I'm not sure any of this means anything. I searched my own website melissacarter.net and it says my site is worth $379 and that it makes $0.52 per day. I can assure you it makes nothing and the value is -$90, which is what I paid for a year and a half to the server.

That site just generates amounts based on links and such. There's no science to it really. Sadly it makes people assume their sites are worth a lot more than they really are so when it comes time to sell, they give you some insane price.

A cool site but a bit silly really as it's just based on traffic and not what type of traffic or the viability of the advertising ... although it is quite good for a guideline.

I'll give you $80,789.20, NYCe ?

You mean Billy Mays? IS IT POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO SPEAK WITHOUT YELLING ???? Seriously, every time his commercials come on you have to turn the volume down because he can't stop yelling when he speaks.

I agree that they are using an oversimplified methodology, but I disagree that it's "quite good" for a guideline. It seems that all they are doing is using Alexa estimates for traffic (which are fairly shitty to begin with) and then monetizing the site by counting pageviews as worth a bit over .3 cents each to come up with a daily ad revenue, and then valuing the site at 2 times the annual revenue. The only part I could agree with is using 2 times annual revenue as a guideline for a site's worth. But as usual - GIGO. Using Alexa is a bad start, and monetizing everyone at .3 cents a click is total BS. For the sites of mine which I checked, the least they were off in terms of revenue was an order of magnitude. My guess is that for a decent amount of paysites, they are off by almost 2 orders of magnitude (which is ungodly awful for the worst predictive tool you could imagine). Take a look at any of the Grooby sites: they are listed as producing between $20 and $50 a day in revenue. How far off is that?

Yeah your right, I was just looking at just some freebie sites but the more I think about this the more stupid it becomes.

Also for paysites, it doesn't take into account the worth of memberships as you suggested or the content that maybe owned. I know for sure we wouldn't sell up for 2 yrs revenue!!!

Let's me re-phrase. It's could for a bit fun!

Ride the market out, NYCe, it'll come back before housing prices do!

Woefully inaccurate, but it is a bit of fun, adding a monetization to the Alexa values. The combined value of my sites is $14,648 with piladyboy leading at $3978.
