my depth of understanding is possibly not up to that of yours when speaking on matters of Internet and computer technology (dunno), but i do know that a class a address is one that supports 16 million hosts on each of 126 networks, while all others (b,c and d) support considerably less. these are now, and have always been, hardest to get, but were attainable. it is my understanding that they were not mutually exclusive to a region or country, thus my question: why would it be any more rare a possibility for a Thai based site to not have had access to class a than a site anywhere else on the planet is my question?
am i being too simplistic in my understanding of this subject? if so, please educate me, i am open to that.
whether it was implied intentionally, or not, i found the remark to be a generalization that sought to diminish a group of people simply by virtue of where they are.

In fact for a time in the mid 90s there was a serious problem with the routing tables becoming saturated and it wasn't until newer protocols such as VLSM and CIDR were introduced to make better use of and to consolidate the tables, the core ackbone was in danger or locking up.

Hence my earlier question / remark.

Currently, the only way to obtain a Class A address is to buy a company that owns one. Easier said than done, but IBM did it in the lte 90s - they had to, they ran out of options on the 9.x.x.x network.

thanks for the info, i am not a geek per se, but i do like to now a bit about how it all works. makes everything else make a bit more sense over all.
