He beat the fuck out of Paul Pierce like he was that girl from Colorado. Might be some truth to those allegations of refs rigging games.....

Holy crap the lakers are going to go down 3-1,Kobe may be good but it takes a team to win the game and the celtics are proving that.

Just another reason why I don't watch this sport. How does a team blow a 24 pt. lead and lose. Do they suddenly not know how to play defense? You see this way too much in this sport. Teams don't blow 5-0 leads in the 3rd in hockey. They know how to protect that lead.

Sorry, but basketball is a joke.

TomSelis
06-13-2008, 01:19 PM
Nah, actually it shows parity between the teams. That anything can happen, just like in football.

Defense in basketball is a joke. Fouls called when clean blocks are happening.

It's stupid.

Teams don't blow huge leads in football that often either. Again, defense.

The coaches study the opposing players and figure out a strategy to neutralize what they're doing on that particular day. They basically took Kobe out of his game with lots of double-teams and forced him to be an assist machine.

Not so sure, it seemed that they were double teaming a lot 1st half and that allowed the lakers to score. But they played him straight up one on one with Pierce and that slowed down the Lakers scoring.

I sort of find this ironic too, Lakers the great comeback team has the one of the greatest comebacks against them after setting a 1st quarter lead record of 22 points (previous it was 20 pints).

Crazy as it sounds, don't be surprised just like blowing a 24 point lead, the Lakers win in seven.Just don't go into shock.

Yea I sure hope so, but no team in the finals has ever done this and it seems like blowing that lead took any hope/spirit the lakers had.

But wouldn't that be so ironic a few years ago Boston defeating New York after being down 3-0 and Lakers doing it to them being down 3-1...God I laugh all summer if that happen.

fuck the fakers, fuck the keltics, fuck david stern. the nba is fixed and has been fixed for many years dating back to 91. The league needs to be dismantled and there needs to be a new league started from scratch. Davis stern and all of his stock share holders need to fucking go and work for wall street along with the other gutless lowlife parasites in wall street who destroy peoples lives.

Its time for a league where skills and talent win games not these overphysical hackfest 70 to 75 horrible to watch games. Where the fuck is the fastbreaks? coaches are so fucking conserative they have ruined the fun of the game. Every last one of these refs needs to go they are all corrupt and they fix games by giving certain teams special treatment. Back in the 80's every mother fucking team ran!! every team scored!!! every team played the game right. If there was a low scoring game it was a shock. there was none of this hacking and wacking every fucking play. what the fuck is that about?

the nba needs to start over because it has failed in every sense of the word. bottom line the game is not fun. if your just watching the game only for your team to win and dont care about what goes on the other 48 minutes than please stop watching basketball.

It is a well know fact that Michael Jordan 'retired' the first time in 93 (?) because he was going to be suspended from the NBA for betting on games.

You're right Worthy. Most of todays players can't consistently hit an open jump shot. Pre-1990 if you gave any NBA player an open look from 20 feet in you could count it. The lack of offensive skills on both the pro and college level is appalling.

Today it's generally a point guard paired with a forward/swingman who's a scoring machine with three guys who are there to play defense and set screens on offense.

Kobe is nothing like Michael Jordan, Dwyane Wade has more heart and leadership than Kobe Bryant will ever have. Kobe is a phoney, to me he is like what most people see Alex Rodriguez as, the best player in the game, but critically flawed when it comes to the real intangibles.

The Truth, KG, and the Ray Gun have real guts and heart. They deserve the NBA championship.

El Nino

Co-sign what Jefferson said. They have TRUE HEART and the force surrounds them!!! Kobe is selfish on the court and has a big ego. Who needs that on a team?
