I support the police, and back everything they do ... only when it's within the constraints of proper law enforcement. In this case, I take exception. He was extrememly out of line and violating the civil rights of a civilian reporter.
The officer should be charged with assault and prosecuted as an example to other officers of how not to conduct yourself while on duty.

The 'news' guy got what he was after. Why antagonize officers of the law? The guy is a douche bag clear & simple.

Police officers aren't supposed to be antagonized. Either a crime has been committed or it has not. Photographing on a public street is not a crime. The problem is there are currently police officers who in previous times would not have not qualified for police training. Lack of manpower due to bush's Asian wars contributes to this. Steroids, too, contribute to policemens' short fuses.
