Do you still believe in Chivarly?

or

Is that an earned respect?

Depends how you define it, but for the most part I open doors, give up my seat, etc.

Chivalry is given until the recipient proves they arent worth of it. Some girls really dont deserve the doors opened for them or chairs pulled out. Ill do thing to strangers, but if I know you're conceited or evil, Illthink twice. It shouldnt be expected, and it should be thanked when received.

I still do it, but it depends, just like blckhaze said.
I'll do it until I dont think your worth it.

I agree with Blckhaze. Heck, I've even held the door for men at times, it all depends on the particular circumstances.

It's those little courtesies that make civilization civilized.

Chivarly is dead. With the fem nazi's where I am, the face that the girls around me just want bad boyz....it's not worth even trying.

Alot of people don't even understand chivarly or manners these days. I was walking out of the Sharper Image store on 57th street in NYC recently and as I was going out the door a pretty girl followed by her BF were walking toward the door, I waited the second needed to hold the door for her. She said thx and when the BF passed me he gave me a nasty look and said "she's with me" ??? WTF?

LMAO @ blacky poo

Dont take my brash nature here as a sign of who I am in person. thats only 75% of who I am, if that. Even after the black Vs. White jokes, Im pretty calm, I just dont give people more than what they earn, and it can be quite the shock to not have someone kiss you ass when you used to it being kissed 24/7.

Chivalry is, in fact, dead. Case in point: as I was coming home, I opened the door to my building just as a young woman was heading towards the door. The door opened inwards, so I stepped in the direction that the door was opening, this being the only way for me to hold the door for her. However, the idea that I might hold the door for her did not cross her mind, so she stepped in the same direction, and only my quick reflexes prevented me from accidentally headbutting her into a coma.
