i am trying to find a non offensive term to decribe the beautiful ladies on this board. the discussion of transgender comes up a lot on this board especially with the assholes who are pretending they are not attracted to these ladies who post here and wouldn't drop to their knees in a second and suck if given the opportunity. i only ask because tg, ts, trans, tgirl ect... doesn't specify if it is ( male to female ) or ( female to male ), or since there does not seem to be any " female to male " on the board we can assume that ts, trans ect... only applies to ( male to female ) [u] :?: i truly luv you ladies but i am clueless

ive heard a term that I will stick with for the rest of my life

All ts, shemales, ladyboys, etc etc....
I call them all women
they look like women, smell like women, think like women and feel like women, sooooooooooooo they must and have to be women

I concur: women is the best option. However, if the distinction is important, then I favor tgirl or transsexual woman. Shemale, tranny, chicks with dicks, angels with angles, etc. are insulting outside the realm of porn (and even there, as a necessary evil).

Ladyboy is not too bad in reference to Thai and Filipina tgirls, but still comes up as derogatory too often and doesn't apply to other groups.

I think, in general, "shemale" is offensive. So is "chicks with dicks" and any reference to "man" or "boy" (and I thought chasers were afraid of being gay...). It's popular for porn, though, but IRL very bad.

"Transsexual", "Transgendered" (preferably both as adjectives, not nouns), "TS", "tgirl", etc. are fine.

"Woman" is best ^_^

Transwoman is the term I prefer after Woman.

Most of the other terms to me are very sexualized and were
created to make sure to mention the (often despised by the
owner) male appendage. "Tranny" (I think it's the Y at the
end) seems like a very patronizing term that is mostly used
by gay men and is so encompassing as to be too vague.

here's an idea, instead of labeling them, why not just call them by their name???

I never use the term "tranny" or "shemale"; I have too much respect for the girls to do so. I call them girls or women...unless they tell me otherwise.

I dont mind shemale or t-girl. They are necessary on the web.

Transsexual is best, or TS

I am not fond of Transgender or Transwoman, It soulds like a medical problem.

Just call me a woman and be done with it. I am what I am and deserve the respect of the gender I choose to portray. And the fact my legal documents say "FEMALE". Shemale is a term used by tranny chassers and porn industyry to make a buck off of what they see as an oddity. In reality, we are woman, trans woman, but woman none the less.

This is the opening, who am i to disagree with that? It even uses the term Ladyboy.. And the famous site is called "Shemaleyum"
I don't see the problem with the word shemale.
Indeed used by pornproducers. But this is a pornsite. If it weren't for the pictures i guess 95% of the members won't be here.

Is the term shemales offensive?

I find the term extremely offensive.

I don't feel that we as transwomen should use it, or allow others to
use it in reference to us.

Terms that will keep me off the soapbox :soapbox

You won't go wrong with these: women, ladies, female,
transwomen, transsexual, transgender, t-girl, transperson.

Gender variant and gender dysphoric person are okay but sound
very clinical. TS and TG also are acceptable as abbreviations.

And just between you, me and the 10,000 other people reading
this, using any of the above terms will endear you to a trans -
woman quicker and more effectively than calling her a "she-male',
'he-she', 'shim', 'lady boy', tranny and sluts with sausage /
dolls with balls / babes with boners / women with wangs / chicks with
dicks / moms with meat / playmates with prostates / debbies with dongs
/ heroines with hard-ons / dykes with dinks / bitches with beef /
wives with weiners / whores with more / widows with woodies /
tricks with tripods / nieces with nuts / females with foreskin / bimbos
with bones / princesses with penises / nuns with knobs / skanks with
scrotums / gals with gadgets / skirts with schlongs / sisters with snakes /
broads with rods / tramps with testes / cunts with cocks / wenches with
wee-wees / girls with gonads / nannies with nightsticks / pinays with
pipes / shrews with salami / chicas with chubbies / harpies with helmets /
dominatrixes with dipsticks / succubuses with sacks / maidens with
members / bachlorettes with bishops / goddesses with goliaths /
hoochies with hoses / vixens with vipers / foxes with fucksticks /
actresses with anacondas / dames with ding-dongs / mistresses with
manginas / tarts with tools / hotties with hammers / femmes with
footlongs, , which are all perjorative or deragatory terms created by
the porn industry for marketing purposes.

In reviewing posts, I came upon the response above.

For me, my chief reason for being here and on a number of other sites
is to educate, advocate, and sometimes agitate.

And though I have met some really great people, and at times my task is
less onerous, my mission is the uplifting and empowering of transwomen.

why do americans (more often than others) have such a sensitive spot for offensive words?

i mean, in my opinion, words are just words. out side the context of a sentence or intention their offensiveness seem irrelevant. its when you start labeling words as offensive, that they get a life of their own, and strength...
mostly in the hands of people with bad intentions, who would have anyway found a way to show their malice regardless of the specific word they are using.

there are no bad words without bad intentions.

You know mabey it's some kind of a Midwestern thing or I have a thick skin....

To answer the question. Shemale when used on a board like this is not offensive to me. As it has been written a few times in P&R threads this is Hungangels. Now in my personal opinion once a transsexual woman, transwoman, .... types that address into the address bar they know what they are getting into. I am not and no one should be surprise or offended to hear that word here.

Now IRL face to face, especially in a professional setting, being called a shemale would piss me the fuck off.

Just my personal opinion.

This is my first post after lurking in this forum for a couple of months now. I find the term "shemale" offensive because of what a few posters indicated in previous replies. That term came from the porn industry & this gives the pre-op/post-op TG woman unnecessary, unwarranted misconceptions about them. What about the pre-op TG woman, the post-op TG woman? They went through so many struggles to achieve on becoming what they are now, to be considered & accepted as 100% woman by the general public. Society forgets that these women gave up everything to be what they are. I accept & respect them for that because I went through struggles in a different way, getting called many racial names while growing up. In some sort of way, I can relate to these women completely. I am a open minded man that sees that a pre-op/post-op TG woman can offer a man the same femininity, class, sexiness, & to be treated with the same respect as a genetic woman gets by a straight man, like myself. I personally feel that if you are closed minded, you can miss out on your soulmate, she can EVEN be the pre-op/post-op TG woman, if you are open minded enough to see it. I really do believe that! As of right now, I am still seeking a woman that is my soulmate, the one I am compatible with & the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I always asked myself this question, "Why does it have to be so hard to find an attractive woman that will give you the same effort as I do on making a relationship be long term & successful?" I am the old fashioned type that gives that special someone flowers, no matter the occassion, just to let her know I love her, being affectionate in public, opening doors for her, to me, this lets everyone know I am proud of my woman & how proud I am with her. I feel this makes a woman feel good inside about herself, to give her the attention & respect she deserves as a woman. To me, I feel good inside knowing that I give nothing but undue respect to my woman, if & when I ever meet her.
So to answer that question to this topic, yes, this term is offensive.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter & hope when I go to NYC soon, I will be able to meet some of the women here.
Take care.

It's a fair enough question.

Personally, I've always called a girl using her name. If I need to use a label then either transsexual or tgirl. I know that some girls get very offended by insensitive use of words, although they might not speak out immediately. Comments on this thread from girls seems to bear this out.

well... i usually call a girl by her name... but if i have to generalize i use "Girl" or "woman" because this is what they are... or at least what i think they are...
