I just saw I earned 32 points for one of my posts. I did not notice this feature before. What are the points for? Do I win some famous prizes like a date with a TS Hung Angel of my choice?

it's a new thing apparently - i just got points too. it must be based on message length.

I just noticed that myself, and wondered if they had been there all along and I was simply too daft to see them, lol. One thing's for sure, you don't accumulate them according to the number of posts you've made (I'm at 883 posts and only 34 points prior to this one, seems a little odd).

Guys, ever watch Whose Line Is It Anyway ? Well, my guess is that's how the points are distributed in here. Got that ?!

... This week's winner is -- the incomparable Ryan Stiles...

Not sure what they're for either, but I like the idea. Anything to make posting from work more interesting

Does this mean we may haft to post more to see some threads?

Well, I max'ed out when I hit 240 points; made one more post (did several in a row for the Arbian Nights photos thread of photos I took at the party) and got the warning and wondered if it meant I had reached a limit on number of posts, but it only meant that I got no more points.

So what do I do with the points? Are they like frequent flyer points? Get so many points and certain select escorts or websites will provide a discount?

Laura, lovely new avatar photo!

Yeah, driving in San Francisco. I was there a few months ago with a rental car and quickly decided to either walk or use the mass transit system, driving on those streets is insane.

ha that is so true, for my friends anyway, my friend has been driving since september and broke 2 cars, he broke one within a month, one he had a crash with but it still ran but its just really broke i dunno what lol

although i cant legally drive i think i'd be a bit safer than them since they go much faster than the limit

I was particularly thinking of Amsterdam, Rome, cities like those. But I remember some very fast driving on the British Motorways, where I might be cruising at 85 in the left lane and be passed by a little ole lady going 95 on my right (remember, the English system, right is our left, lol). Yet come to a roundabout or a single-lane B-road with turnouts, and every single driver is courteous and follows the rules (yielding to cars already in the roundabout, pulling into the turnout on your side to let the approaching car pass and waving when doing so). Interesting mix. My favorite are the B-roads in West Country, all single-lane (by American standards) but with two-way traffic between tall hengerows (shrubbery over stone walls), winding and narrow, and everyone drives 40, 50 mph where in the US they wouldn't dare do more than 20.

Chica
06-09-2005, 08:08 PM
lol single road country lanes are 60mph, and these have walls and trees and winding corners... i hate doing it on my driving lessons its scary... my friend goes 80 - 90 on roads like that, and well over 100 on motorways (at night only too many cops daytime) but now he has a new car so he is going 130mph :-s

well atleast everyone has fair warning now because i am serious, from san deigo/la/sanfran all the way to boston i have driven atleast around the city of almost everything inbetween or atleast all the major ones and san fran had to be the absolute worse i have seen, not to mention how fast you can go from ok area to um i really should turn around and get out of here, basically one block, nice business, people walkign around, next block dark alley, people ducking and shadows a movin lol

Yeah, I thought I was being conservative in my estimate there. 100+ on the motorways is not at all surprising, and 60+ on those Cornwall byways. I also fondly remember driving two-way lanes in Wales so tight that several times I would knock sideview mirrors with the guy going the other way, which made me realize why fold-back mirrors were invented in Europe. Houses along those Welsh roads are built right up against the pavement (setback? what's a setback? of course, the houses are 100s of years old, predating the paved roads), so close that I felt I could reach out from the car whilst driving and change the chanel on the tv in the living room abutting the road.

An English friend of mine says that traffic accidents are actually less common in England than in the US, but when there's a multi-car pileup on the motorway, people die more often than here.

well we have more death rates since we have tiny little cars while you can fit a family of 7 and the kitchen sink in a small american car.... we're environmentally friendly... only cause of the price of fuel... yours is like 8 times cheaper than ours.. you should have shared the iraq fuel!!

You got that right! SUVs drive me nuts. A small subset of SUV owners actually use them offroad, and a smaller subset of those may actually have reason to and therefore be justified. But driving a Ford Leviathan or Chrysler Behemoth which is 22 feet long and 7 feet tall and 9 feet wide with a curb weight of 2.5 tons which gets 12 miles a gallon (whatever that is in litres) to the green grocer to buy six bags of groceries is utterly absurd. And the funny thing is, they aren't safe: being heavier, they take longer to stop in panic braking and have a terrible habit of rolling over if you swerve too fast (well, the best have expensive gear to compensate, but still!).

I saw a really funny ad for an SUV on TV earlier today: a Subaru Tribeca. Now I understand naming SUVs after he-man concepts like Montana, Sequoia, Santa Fe, Denali, etc., but Tribeca? That's a village in lower Manhatten (Tri(angle)Be(low)Ca(nal St)). Truth in advertising: this SUV is meant for a city slicker, lol.

12 miles a GALLON? jeez... our gallon is about 4.5 litres, yours is a little bit bigger... but our small cars do about 40 miles to the gallon, and our petrol is 75p per litre, thats about $1.50 per litre, or $6.75 per gallon

This is why GM is in such "deep do-do" (to quote G.H.W. Bush) and is laying off so many workers: even Americans (or at least some of us) want more economic cars. I love my VW Passat wagon...but at "only" 28 mpg, I do miss my '89 Honda Accord which got 36 mpg.

Of course, there's always the Internation CTX: curb weight ONE POUND LESS than the 30,000 pounds that requires a commercial truck driver's license in the US. It's nine feet tall and 22 feet long. You probably can't even drive it down some of those West Country hedgelined roads, lol.

By the way, I'm pretty sure I found out what the points are for. I think when you get to 1000 points you either get a free 3 month membership at shemaleyum, a free entry to one of Allanah's parties, or a night of passion with Felicia Catt. I think they all cost about the same thing. Meow.

Personally I am saving up for 2000 points which is Allanah flying out to Arizona where Vicki will set her up in a luxurious motel in South Phoenix. I know just the place.
