The Avanti. Designed for Studebaker by Raymond Loewy (The Pennsylvania RR GG1, The USPS 'Screaming Eagle', etc.), the design survived the company by more than twenty years (Studebaker, after absorbing Packard, succumbed to economic pressures in the mid-60's, but the Avanti was produced at the South Bend plant well into the 1980's).

B1, The Avanti is a good score. one of my all time favorite hot rods.

What you see here is a 1967 Formula 'S' 383 Barracuda. It was also available with the 440. The engine bay had to be widened by 2" to accomodate the "Big Blocks". You will also note, A/C and a heater core were deleted as well. I bought one in June of '67. It would almost do a wheel stand on street tires. The car fell apart in 6 months...
