View Full Version : A question for American/US Escorts...Legalize/Decriminalize?

Absolutely.

I've expressed my opinions on the positive role that sex workers can play in society many times here, so I won't go on too much here.

Suffice it to say, I believe that the government should not be enforcing a religious moral code. If the Christians don't want prostitution, then they should stay the fuck out of the brothels, and prove to their children that monogamy works, instead of legally demanding it from the rest of us.

I do believe that law enforcement should be protecting individuals safety and freedom, focusing on forced prostitution and violent predators. Sadly, current prostitution laws enforce a climate of fear which allows psychopaths to kill, often times for years with impunity.

I know it will probably never happen in the US, at least not during my lifetime, but I would like to someday live in a place that values sex workers for the role they have in society. This can only happen, once the atmosphere of shame and fear of arrest or violence is changed.

I know alot of girls at the top who want to keep it illegal, because they know that the competition would be a real challenge, and they would probably make less money. Whatever, I think ultimately it would be better for society, better for the trans-community, and better for poor women in general to legalize it.

Legalize drugs too. That's my campaign promise for 2008. elect me and whores and drugs will be legal.

Sadly, it is less about moral code (Though that does have a great deal to do with it in certain areas of the country - Lets compare Salt Wells, Nevada with Branson, Missouri for example), and more about taxes and regulation.

I submit to you the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937, for which the Treasury Department actually overprinted current Bureau revenue stamps for the purpose. Only one problem: Anyone could grow the stuff, anywhere, anytime. It was even in the wild.

Different from Alcohol, where product could be traced via multiple suppliers of barley, malt, etc. and distilling and bottling equipment. The attempt to tax whacky tobbacky was subject to a list of complicated rules that essentially made it a criminal act to even apply for the license. Essentially, if we can't tax it, or if it is difficult to tax, then we should make it illegal to grow and market or at least impossible to do so legally. It was tweaked in 1951 and then repealed/replaced by the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.

Like MJ, prostitution/escorting is something that can pretty much be 'grown in the wild'.

The feds don't like an underground economy and they'll fight to the death it's very existence.

Legalize and tax it. If I pay taxes, so do they. Income is income.

The idea is to get women safe, adding to the economy and mainstreaming. Let them get go tax free as long as they provide their own medical insurance and submit to testing.

Escorts spend more than the average Joe on everything from clothing to make-up to coffee and donuts and lots of gum. They pay their sales tax. Enough. Never met an escort that didn't spend 50 bucks a day and up on just walking around money before meals and such.

Spendthrifts. ALL OF THEM!!!!!

People have the wrong perception. We dont walk the street. Most men that see escorts are white collar and are more afraid of us they we are of them. We are business women and know what we are doing, we aren't out there to support a drug habit or something like that.

Not the wrong idea. Safe is important. Are you saying that the murder rate is normal/average among Escorts? Are you saying that this thread is about you and your clientele? Drug addiction among escorts is low? Who is "we." ?

It only takes one time to get hurt. And it would be naive to say that escorts only see white collar clients and that they are ALL safe.

Murder is high with street girls, and can still happen with escorts but the rate is lower. When a guy comes to see me he is walking into my zone. He doesn't know if someone is in the bathroom or if I have a 9 under the pillow. He is a lot more uneasy then I am. I know the show and I have seen more men then I wish to admit lol, so for you to sit here and tell me how it is when you haven't lived it is just foolish.

Decriminalized, legal, and untaxed--that's how it should be. Let the free market determine the value of the service (though I fully understand Julie's choice to not offer $100 service calls).

Legalize it. Clean it up - tax it like they do in Amsterdam. Watch health costs in New York City get cut by at least a third.

Almost every city on the European continent has legal brothels. Its safer that way. If you don't believe me, go to Frankfurt or Amsterdam or Budapest.

I think its true that if prostitution was decriminalized it would make providers safer, be they street walkers or netscorts. Far too many crimes are perpetrated against sex-workers that will never be reported or investigated because a girl could end up in jail.

While I agree with Julie, that for independent girls with the ability to pick and choose clients, or girls working with a good agency, cops and thugs are less of a worry. Bullies like to pick on girls that can't take care of themselves, and most independent providers are way too up on their shit to bother with, but, and I repeat but, there are some true psychopaths out there that prey on providers. They get away with it because the life of a sex-worker just doesn't matter, at least not like some suburban housewife that gets killed.

As for the money, I think I would make a hell of a lot more of it if it was legal. Simple enough, you cater to an elite clientele and you do less sessions for more money. Not only that, but if pros goes legal, who's going to reap the immediate benefit of working in high end joints? My guess is the girls who already have a following and know the game...

Believe it or not, not all of us are sitting reading your take on things. I've lived the streets of New York my whole life. Know the escort scene in LA as well. My facts, my thoughts, my take is accurate. And while I was never the one taking the cum, I've lived with it longer than you been doing it.

And why you need to belittle people is beyond me. I don't get into tiffs with people here. But you should always be polite to people. Especially those that may be in the know.

Shall we compare notes on everything? It's a smaller world than you think.

We would all make ALOT less money if it was legal, and have to pay taxes on it as well. I have been a male escort for over 12 years, and while it is a bit different from what the ladys go through, it is pretty much the same. So I have to agree with Julie, we would all make less and I think it would be 100, maybe less.
While there is always a chance of foul play and law enforcement, if you are savy, non greedy, you can usually do business pretty safely and make good money.
The government is obviously short sighted, if they legalized and taxed marijuana and sex we would never have a national debt, lol.

My two cents:

1) legalize escorting and all other forms of prostitution.

2) Tax escorting and all other forms of prostitution.

3) Regulate escorting and all other forms of prostitution. I would suggest screening for disease as well as criminal background checks. By removing women with drug and theft-related convictions you would remove much of the “hustler” element associated with escorting and would be able to professionalize the occupation.

Prostitution was legalised in my country a few years ago. The intention was to got prostitutes off the streets into property managed establishments and provide a safe environment for sex workers.

The reality has been somewhat different. There are now more young girls hitting the streets for sex work than there were before.

In light of this actual experience, do you think think legalising prostitution si the right way to go?

Totally delusional!

Safe???

Ts are the most likely grouping of people to have hiv.

Ts prostitutes being the highest group fullstop. This is 'safe'?

You are business women and know what your doing? Thats why every single 'escort' i know of snorts coke and is insecure with herself, doesnt have a proper boyfriend because any hot guy that comes along ends up just using her.

Yep, keep telling yourself that girl.

End of the day, society is based on morals, it has been and always will be. Prostitiution spreads disease, prostitution fuels drug related crime, prostitution is not welcomed by the honest hard working american, they dont want escorts/prostitutes or whatever you wanna call them in their neighbourhood as it is a sleazy, dirty and immoral job.

I laugh so much when i hear ts on this site writing that they have celebrity clients and some really sexy men coming to visit them, complete load of bullsh1t.

And do this with drug dealing and theifs aswell?

Look guys, just because some of you see prostitutes/escorts and respect them, kiss arse. Most guys in this world do not see it this way.

It might be a fantasy of yours to all have sex with ts prostitutes but frankly thats fuking disgusting to me.

Each to their own however. But just because someone wants prostitution legalised does not mean the majority do. The majority in the usa do not want to legalise prostitution, or drugs for that matter either.

Drug dealers and drug users would like legalisation of drugs, but most people dont use drugs. The same goes for prostitutes.
