I always thought there was stigma attached to working at Mcdonalds or similar places. They employ anybody, and a job for losers. Its like wearing a sign saying 'I earn chump change'. So how can they think
'they are the shit' (or 'the dogs bollocks' as we say in London) when you are in the classic dead end job? Standing up for yourself is speaking to the manager and then contacting McDonald's regional office to file a complaint. "Administering" ass kickings can and should get one locked up.

I seriously doubt that the attack was initiated by the employees. We don't know what words may have been exchanged, but an insult does not grant people the right to storm a restaurant.

I get that employees at stores get rude, especially when it comes to people who don't pass but that doesn't justify using weapons to retaliate. Beating someone up because of an insult isn't standing up for yourself. Whichever one of the three who had the tire iron was lucky they weren't shot. I don't care what someone's demographic is, if you walk into ANY store waving around a tire iron and get shot, the clerk is going to get off on self defense. The surveillance videos should show who turned it into a physical confrontation but the act of bringing in a tire iron like that isn't making it sound good for the three customers even if you cut out the insults, pronoun usage and terminology from the picture.

I don't see how the pictures prove that anyone there was ts. But the pictures combined with the one that had done a name change (going by the one named Lynn) I would say it is likely at least one of them were.

You really can't use even hrt as a litmus test to tell who is ts and who is not, there are plenty of tv's out there on hrt who would never ever want to even think of transitioning.

But really... does it MATTER if these were ts or tv people? I am not sure it makes a difference, certainly the general public (including the cops and fast food employees involved) wouldn't be able to tell you the difference if asked to do so. The newspapers (as usual) are not adhering to the AP Stylebook guidelines for reporting on GLBT issues. TWO of these people look like t-girls to me. And one has an apparently female name (Lynn). And as we all know, many TS's don't have their legal docs in order.

Matt Well in my situation it went like this. I was in macys shopping and I was chatting with one of my favorite sales gals and she was showing me some Juicy Couture chockers, and I was trying one on. Now I was dressed normal, jeans, jacket Uggs, hair in a ponytail and a cap, no make-up. Like any other normal girl. So ther is a guy behind me with a sales person. I didn't even notice them as I was minding my business and shopping. Then the customer says to the sales person "I wonder if thats a man or a woman" and then the sales guy say " Hmm, I would like to know myself". It is none of either guys business what I was. I am a paying customer, and a Macys cardholder. It pissed me off to the point I excused myself with the salesgirl who was equally appalled, and proceded to light into them both. When I was finished the customer ran out and the sales person was told to go to the back room, I ask for a manager, which never came, instead an obviously gay employee from cosmetics was sent to "calm me down", nobody even ask me the employees name or anything. However several female customers applauded me for standing up and calling it out. It was unnecessary and unprevoked. I have no doubt that the restaurant staff uttered something to which these
transgendeed women took offense, and they then responded

For me, it would take someone physically harming or the certainty of harm
to myself, a family member or loved one, and then I would react
accordingly and appropriately.

Other than that the ignorant words of a stranger reflect upon that person,
not me.
