That said, who's to say a whole lot of us are who we say we are? I once said something while arguing with Blackmagic that somebody saw as conflicting with something I later said in one of Peggy's threads. Now, I explained things more fully and the matter was resolved, but it only dealt with what I did for a living, not something as critical to this board as whether or not someone is really a TS. Still, it wasn't lost on me that there was someone who had closely scrutinized what I said... And clearly, it only takes one. However, this person was wrong, primarily because he didn't take certain things into account, which he couldn't have done because I hadn't made enough information available. And so, a would-be super sleuth was foiled, but at least the embarrasment wasn't public.

i watched a movie once where cops were looking for a killer. they arrested someone who they thought for sure was the killer and took him to the interrogation room to "drill him over". they repeatedly asked him how he'd killed the previous victims but he kept repeating he had no idea what they were talking about. eventually the chief in charge realized this wasn't the guy and went over and slapped him.
the guy said "what the hell did you do that for?" but nobody answered him. I thought about this for a long time until i realized it.

the chief was so frustrated that this guy wasn't the killer he was looking for that he still somehow had to make him guilty for something- and thus punish him. you see what am saying here?
