Last week I was was in London for business and walking around Soho I saw a picture of my friend the late Lisa Cage....The picture showed her beautiful face and infectous smile.....I have been haunted with sadness and guilt ever since I saw that photo.

I first met Lisa in 1999, she was the first Trans Girl I was ever intimate with . I treated her like a regular girl, dating, phone calls and man to woman sex. But to be honest with all of you I NEVER treated her like a man would treat a woman he really cared for :( . I was too hung up on my own sexuality questions.

Lisa worked for a bank at the time and helped me with two mortgages for properties I still to this day own in Queens, NYC. She was a "very" occasional escort at the time and did some modeling for Grooby (she was very fond of Steven from Grooby). We were never BF/GF but we would hook up monthly and go to movies, plays, dinner, comedy clubs...etc...

The last time I saw Lisa was after at an Allanah party in midtown, we talked at the party but were not hanging out together . She was a featured performer that night. At the end of the night I had hailed a cab and was about to get into it when she called me from her parked car behind me..She said "I'll drive you home" and I said I already had the cab pull over,I better take it....See you soon...

That was the last time I ever saw her........She passed away months later....

God, what I wouldn't give to have another chance to spend another 10 minutes with that sweet soul...

I can still hear her unique laugh and see her smile........I wish I was brave enough to tell her that " I loved her" because I did....

"God have mercy on the man who doubts what he's sure of"

Sorry if I am too sappy but I feel sooo sad today and deserve to....I should have been kinder and filled her life with the joy that she deserved...

Thanks with sharing another side of her with us. We have gifts in life. Think of her as a gift that you did not get to keep. Life is like that often. But we all have our memories of precious times, made more so because they can never return. Forgive yourself, and make amends by keeping in touch with your friends who are still there. Love.
