View Full Version : Answering Blocked calls

Like allot of ladies I generally do not answer calls where the number is blocked. Personally I think that someone that paranoid would have to be unstable. I mean what would I do with their number? Turn them into the cops?

At least that was my attitude about that until this last week.

Someone called me and made a appointment. Said they would call again when they were nearby. I waited and the appointed time passed. Then a little after that i got a call that was blocked. Which I did not answer. Then a little while latter I became curious and texted the guy who made the appointment to ask if he had called and blocked his number. He said he did not block it and speculated that it happend because of the area he was in.

So I did a little test with my cell phone and a friends cell phone. I called and sure enough it said my number was blocked.

The point of my writing this is to advise anyone who is interested that sometimes a number can show as "blocked" even if it originally wasn't.

I can understand the blocked call thing. Mayhaps the guy was calling from work or worse, was calling from home and didn't want you to *69 back to engage his wife in witty banter.

I once called a gurl from my home and she was downright shocked to discover this. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. Yet I can see the privacy issues that come up and also understnd the gurl's point of view when she declines blocked calls.

I also understand why a gurl won't take calls from a pay phone (Usually a 555 exchange) and that makes my own position a bit tenuous as I don't (At the moment) have a cell phone.

I hate phones with a passion. I rarely answer the one on my desk, though it almost never rings (Google "Screen Machine", "TeleScreen", and "TeleZapper" as well as the National Do-Not-Call List). This is why I IM/PM and email a gurl a great deal before meeting (Which I am sure torques them off to no end).

Phones can be your greatest friend or your greatest enemy, depending on how well you've trained them.

That is interesting, I've never heard of someones number being blocked because of an area they were in. Good to know I guess, I personally never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number, especially if it is caller blocked, let em leave a message.

I totally understand why a john would not want to put his number out there, common sense to me. Best to remain anonymous when engaging in illegal activities. Most people wouldn't want an escort calling them back, especially if they happen to be married or in a relationship.

On the other hand I guess I can see why most escorts require you to have an unblocked number for the whole safety issue I guess.

Google "Screen Machine", "TeleScreen", and "TeleZapper".

Trust me, my phone =NEVER= rings unless it's someone I want to talk to.

Everyone in my family has had unlisted phone numbers for many many years. There was a time when my mom was politically active and it pissed off a bunch of people, the phone calls seemed to get old after a while.

If you have an unlisted phone number its gonna appear as blocked on caller ID unless you punch in a specific star number first (forget which one it is). There was a pizza shop my mom used to use which wouldn't even let blocked calls connect so we always had to do that star command if we wanted to order there.

but you did say his number showed to make the appointment
thats different
if a guy call first blocked he gets voicemail
if he is serious he will leave his number on the voice mail, if not, NEXT!!!
