One of the greatest shows the scifi channel has ever produced but sadly it was cancelled after two seasons.I've couldn't find the segment where a guy was taunting a killer locked in a cage and well you can guess what happened next the guy was crying like shit when he got loose.

That show could be really funny or really corny. It started getting more corny towards the end of it's run

My favorite one tho', was the segment when this guy and his gf were driving through the desert in a limo (don't ask me why). Suddenly, there's an UFO landing and aliens are in the road. The guy hauled ass and left his gf in the back of the limo screaming.

She broke up with him after that.

Yeah a couple of them were kind of corny like the fear antics 2 one were the guy told the woman after she shot the guy dressed like a werewolf stated with a smile on his face"you dumb bitch you killed him".

The woman in that episode sued scare tactics for psychological truama. I think she actually won but I don't remember.

Though I have cable, I have no teevee (The cable feeds the computer) and so have little clue as to the current hot shows/series. But I do appreciate the occasional thread of this nature to turn me on to what's being missed or what may be out on DVD later. Thanx.

Scare tactics isn't on anymore, it went off the air years ago at this point. It only lasted three seasons on the scifi network.

Not to hijack your thread but isn't SciFi Channel becoming to science fiction what MTV is to music?

Just when I think science fiction as a genre is coming into its own, as far as a visual medium goes, with all the advances in digital technology in the last decade or so, a channel supposedly devoted to the genre is showing some very circa 1970's looking "made for SciFi Channel" movies. And what about John Edward and that ilk? I think they are even drumming up another psychic that "speaks to the dead", some British woman (in all fairness, I believe that is a re-airing from another channel, but all the same, sheeeesh :? )

All of those crappy saturday night movies suck lake placid 2,allifroggator 5 i just don't get why they keep showing crappy movies with low production values, the only saturday movie im looking forward to is the new highlander tv movie which airs torrorow.I've see the promos for that show you are referring to and its quite laughable they should have learned their lesson from that fraud john edwards. You don't seem to get that kind of quality anymore you had good shows like farscape, lexx and stargate sg1 but not anymore.

Yes, exactly, Farscape, Lexx and others (I liked Babylon 5 as well) were very enjoyable, gave me high expectations for the future of television Sci Fi back then. I very much enjoyed the British (I believe) made Dune movies (two so far) that were aired on SciFi, all in all very good interpretations of the books, I think Frank would be proud. 8)

Having said that, props to them for Battlestar, best thing I've seen in a while, big fan of that one. I guess it's the dichotomy of the quality of what they air along with the programs totally unrelated to science fiction they show that throws me, wrestling? I understand that they are a business and need to make money, but sci fi movies with poor production values in 2007, psychics and ghost hunting? :?

Nearly forgot to ask, the answer seems obvious but I never like to assume, is this showing on SciFi channel, I haven't seen a single promo for this but would like to watch it too. TIA

Cheers!

Its ashamed that the scifi channel was too cheap to continue with the series. They decided to use that money to put out crappy shows like Tremor's the series. Damn shame. I was glad that they managed to put out the Peacekeeper wars. I'm not to into there current line up although Stargate is good but not as creative as Farscape. Flash gordon is terrible.

For anyone interested, I went to the SciFi channel site and got the 411 on Highlander:

"Paul reprises his role as the long-lived Scottish swordsman Duncan MacLeod in Highlander: The Source, which premieres Sept. 15 at 9 p.m"

LOL T5000, I saw the promo for Flash and that was enough, they're even using that tired old Flash Gordon music from the 80s, hehe!

Yes back to Scare tactics. That show was pretty funny and corney at the same time. They did some really good pranks. Did anyone here used to watch the Invisible Man? I thought it was a good show, That and of course Lexx. Sliders was good for awhile but went downhill Shortly before Jerry left the show.

Babylon 5 man those was the good ole days of scifi it just seems like out of every new series nowadays most of them suck and are canceled. The one thing i don't get is why they waste money of ghost hunters i watched it like twice and both times it seemed like a comedy. The one show that truly pisses me off is who wants to be a superhero that is by far the worst show i've ever seen on there, just because you put stan lee's name on it doesn't mean its going to be good,i guess they made some kind of deal because stan lee put his name on one of those crappy saturday movies titled "lightspeed".

This new flash series sucks, they would have been better off purchasing the rights to the old flash movie and airing it every friday instead of this new crap.

So... is Highlander: The Source worth catching when it re-airs at 1am, or should I just keep it moving (and if you tell me Richie somehow returns in the movie, or Amanda makes a guest appearance, you'll already have told me to keep it moving...)?

Yes its worth seeing if your a hardcore highlander fan like me who was pissed they canceled a highlander mmorpg a while ago,i'm not going to spoil anything but i don't dig the futuristic setting and the plot. And to answer your richie and amanda question neither makes an appearance in this tv movie in any way shape or form, their not even mentioned. The only characters i recongized was duncan, methos and joe the watcher.

Well I haven't seen "Who wants to be a Superhero" but the ads they use to promote the show must be a pretty good indication of the shows content and quality, and yes, it looks really, really bad. I'm not much of a fan of Reality TV to begin with but that one looks like it takes the cake of crap programing. Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this the second season and if so, doesn't it follow that there is a core audience watching?! Scary thought that...

About Highlander, I started to watch but lost interest pretty quick, I guess my sentiment echo's that of TJ347 on this one. Not sure if it was the show or if I simply wasn't in the mood to see it then. From what I saw, I don't think it'll be winning any awards anytime soon.

How it got a second season is beyond me but yeah their is some kind of crazy following why i will never understand. After the source the highlander franchise is dead,it was that bad.

The problem with the SciFi channel, is that they have no idea how to run a television station.

They had a good thing going with Farscape, and Lexx, and their other Friday/Saturday night programs. Then they fucked potential viewers up by switching times, taking breaks, etc... For example, they'd start a "new season" of Farscape, show 4 episodes, and then take a 3 month break of re-runs before coming back with new episodes.

With no way of knowing when a new episode would be on, many viewers lost interest. Then 3 years later, SciFi pulls the plug entirely, claiming...lack of interest. DUH!!!

Here's tip to programming execs...if nobody knows when the show will be on, nobody is going to watch it.

Signed,
Still pissed at the cancellation of Farscape

I think that cancellation pissed off alot of loyal fans thats why they gave us the "The Peacekeeper Wars"but lack of interest are they f**king kidding.farscape is the only program that i know of that fans brought back because of interest with sites like savefarscape.Aren't you a little excited over the new farscape webisodes that will probably have nothing to do with the original cast?
