How to make previews with Media Player Classic

Its not my work but copied it from a forum long time ago so credit to the original poster

Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0

Media Player Classic is freeware no pay unless you want to donate.
You can get Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0 by clicking the link.
Help is available here
Help is a bit out dated but still usefull.
French version : d.d. 15/12/2005
English version : d.d. 03/04/2005

What does it do ?

Media Player Classic is an extremely light-weight media player for Windows.
It looks just like the good-old Media Player v6.4, but has lots of nice extra features.
MPC has, for instance, a built in DVD player with real-time zoom, support for AVI subtitles,
QuickTime and RealVideo support (requires QT and/or Real player), and lots more.
Definitely a great replacement for the huge and clumsy Microsoft Media Players.

Did you know that all Windows distributions still include the old Media Player v6.4?
You can run it by clicking Start, Run and entering MPLAYER2.EXE

How does it start ?

The download package is a ZIP file that contains only 1 file.
The file mplayerc.exe, this file is the mediaplayer itself and runs from the location where you downloaded it.
For your convenience you can create a thumbnail on your desktop to start the application.

Pro :

Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0 is a media player that can take over all the functions of the player you use.
This player has the extra option for taking separate frames and previews.

contra :

Unlike the Image Grabber series, you can't manipulate the taken screen captures.
You can't add nor delete frames to the ones taken.
You can't rearrange the taken frames.

How does it work ?

1. Open the clip of wich you wan't to make a preview.
File / Open File

You browse to the correct location, select the file and confirm the selection by clicking <Open> button.
Confirm the selection a second time by clicking the <OK> button (see picture above).
The clip starts to play

Spam or not, thanks. This is a very useful "spam" since I mostly use this player and it is my favorite one. There is still nothing that I couldnīt open with this player :)

I've just begun reusing my Media Player Classic. I recently copied one of my Jules Jordan DVDs to my computer for conversion for my Creative Zen. Classic plays practically everything...and I didn't know one could make screenshots with it.

Thanks for the tip!
