You would never see something like this with this many people participating in NYC:

http://www.transmarch.org/

Or something like this...celebrating diversity in the Trans community:

Come on, NY girls!

Note: I know the LGBT Center does stuff...but it's very limited as far as reaching the majority of the girls.

i don't really know the scene so much in sf, but i'm a nyer and i love the girls here! so, please don't get me wrong. i'd just like to see a bit more activism here like they have in sf.

i was at the trans march here in nyc about a year or so ago...and none of the girls who are the most visible to the population at large were there.

i guess what i'm saying is it would be cool to see the girls that go to the parties and the clubs get involved a little bit. there's like huge divide...both sides think less than of the other. which, in my mind, is self-defeating.

Jenn that shit coming from you is redundant, lesser looking broads wherever you travel would be plentiful resulting in catty attitudes and jealous attempts to get your attention......................

now if you looked like this

then you'd be allowed to say that

Its kinda funny we are having this conversation when it was a DRAG QUEEN who started the whole gay rights movement at STONEWALL!
To be honest transactivism is still in its infancy and YES the do have a trans march out here in SF.

There used to be a lot more activism in NYC. Actually there used to be a lot more NYC in NYC. It's getting more and more like Ohio every day.

While I do hear you and agree as I've seen some of this with my own eyes out here, at least in the clubs.

I can't imagine that NYC is devoid of TS girls with jealous attitudes.

what's wrong with Ohio?

The "Citizens for Moral Decency", led by an admitted ex porn addict trying to curtail activites in strip clubs. They got a law to the state legislative committee, which said no customer could be within 6 feet of an entertainer, even off duty. This group influenced the Presidential race in 2004 by putting a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriages on the ballot, when it had already been made illegal by a previous ballot measure two years earlier.

I think their nickname, "The Ohio Taliban" is appropriate.
