I can't think of a single TS and only one TG (Ru Paul) who is a millionaire. To be honest, I don't even know if Ru Paul is a millionaire. I guess the few that have made successes of themselves aren't very public about their success. What's everyone think about this.

But seriously.... probably like most other millionaires, it's just part of life and nothing to make noise about. We only know who you are because of your chosen career and path in life. When you become a multi-millionaire will you still be in this career path?

I think it depends upon many factors: your fortune (I mean luck and circumstance, not financial base), your priorities (fast life vs. saving and investing), investments, etc. You're not going to get rich doing porn--only the guy owning the business has a chance to get rich at it--or by escorting, but those seem to be the two top fields for publically visible TS. Who knows if a TS who lives outside of the adult entertainment world--as in a "normal" life working as an ad exec or computer programmer or whatever--with smart investments might not be a millionaire? But we would never know it. Only those TS (what percentage of the community is this?) who either escort or do porn or some other form of public adult entertainment are "known" as it were.

I've often wondered how much a successful escort makes, for instance. Ana of Miami claims to pull down $2000/day or something like that; if she does that consistently, five days a week, 50 weeks a year (like most "real" jobs), that's a half a million a year. If a girl earns $300/hour and has just three clients a day, that's $900/day, $4500/week, $225,000/year. Now I doubt that any escort works that hard or consistently, but it does seem like it could pay a lot better than most jobs. As an IT professional, my contract rate is between $40 and $65/hour, depending on the job. If an escort sees 10 clients a week at $200/hour, she could pull down 100 grand a year. Does this happen? Are any escorts this financially successful? If so, do any of them save and invest the money, or does it all go to the fast life?

I don't know what a TS actress makes for each movie, but I would imagine you'd have to make a helluva lot of movies each year to hit that income level.

I think that for some people, money is not EVERYTHING. I could be making a lot more money by escorting, but I guess I have other priorities because I don't do that. (Although I wrestle with that everyday!)

It all goes back to your definintion of success. To some, it's how much money you have. To others, it something else. Don't get me wrong, I love money!!! But I also have to be true to myself.

There may well be millionaire transgenders out there, but because they don't call attention to themselves as transgendered, we have no way of knowing.

I think a high profile rich TG person would be somewhat public about it. It's good PR. I am not just saying sex performers. I am talking about TG's in general. We have a mainstream thread and none of those mainstream people are wealthy.

One interesting thing that TG's have going for them is access to other TG's. Making money should be no problem in an adult industry sort of way. However, I would say that TG's have an inherent distrust for one another which is why you don't see this happening.

I know a few TS Millionaires. They are older now. One started out as a working girl in SF the other was a major stripper of the 70's then went into managment. Plus others. I do know 5 or so that are family rich. And yes there are a few TS's that are related "Closly" to powerful people. And no I will not name names.

I know one. She inherited a modest some of money and was able to parlay it into something substantial by investing very selectively in the real estate market. Should market bubbles start bursting, she will be in a position to capitalize further on her already substantial gains.

Aside from the T mentioned above, none of the others I know are millionaires. Like most people, they aren't particularly good with their money. The cost of surgeries sure as hell doesn't help matters either.

There are really more than you may think. There are many in Eorope that have family $$$ and there are others that marry into it. You must understand the TS world over there is different. Ask this as well, how many millionares are there that made their millions off of Tgurls? Now why no TS millionares? Someone needs to realize that it's the fastest growing segment in porn and their are millions to be made, and that more TSs need to take control of that and help their sisters share in the gains.
