Complex

Ever had a complex after breaking up with a person that you were in a long term relationship with. I met a great guy the other night, and all because his name was "Matt" I blacklisted him (figure of speech) when he asked for my number and to go on a date sometime. He is probably a great guy and someone worth getting to know better, but the whole "Matt" name I can't get past yet. I didn't know how to explain that to him with out sounding like a total nut case. So I just said I'm not dating at this time..sorry.

WOW has anyone else had these things bother them? I thought I was over it, but obviously I'm not yet.

Yeah, names can stir up feelings and emotions that we don't want sometimes, and it's definately easier to avoid the conflict with yourself and shy away from dealing with it.

But then does that prolong the association of a word to feelings you don't want? Even if you did want to deal with it, to wash it away, where would you start?
