I'm trying to compete with you and Silklove... How am I doing?
No, seriously... I don't know. I've seen some extremely random threads here of late, and can't see how this one's any worse. Besides, people like the "orange" pic. Always gets 'em talking, that one. Watch.

Well, it was one of the best sci-fi programs of all time, despite its $7.59 production budget and short life span on TV. Well written, well directed, and it helped influence and spawn countless imitators which never quite got it.

Well....one man's meat is another man's poison. The 1st and 3rd are actually alrite but I will stop short at putting oranges or grapefruits up my partners bum...or my bum for that matter.

This thread is almost as asinine as your signature, zippy.

Well... Blow it out yer ass, indeed.
Oh, and great points about "The Outer Limits", a TV show that was truly ahead of its time, just as "The Twilight Zone" was... mostly.

I saw it in it's original run when I was a kid. I'd switch the channels just to make sure they hadn't "taken control" of our TV set when it came on.

It and "Rat Patrol" would be my top two for cheapest budgets. Rat Patrol was just mil surplus vehicles running around the Mojave Desert.

Do you remember "The Time Tunnel"?

The Time Tunnel (Irwin Allen had the best sound effects back then) and the Rat Patrol were two of my favorites as kids also. Saw most of those in syndication, though.

... We use to play a combination of the Rat Patrol and Combat on our tricycles.

"Rat Patrol"... What years was that on? I was born in 1976, so that may be of some relevance here. It does for some reason sound familiar...

So turns out I'm not familiar with "The Rat Patrol" at all... Turns out for some reason I was thinking of "F Troop". Thanks for the link though.

TBS ran re-runs of it in the middle of the night through the 80's and 90's. You probably ran on to it channel surfing if you were up past 1AM.

F-Troop was a comedy starring Larry Storch and not a drama, though one could make the argument that neither was the Rat Patrol given some of the unbelievable scripts. Bullets flew like confetti on that show and they never got hit.

A predecessor of "The A-Team" then. On another note, anybody remember "The Greatest American Hero"?

Amazing how this went from shoving weird stuff up yer bum to early tv shows.....hmm.....

Rat Patrol was okay, but I preferred Combat.

F Troop got a little silly for me, even as a kid, did like McHales
Navy, and Sgt. Bilko.

Between the Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits, I'd
vote for the Twilight Zone.

As to the OP's pictures, I can go for Ben-wa balls, but I tend
to not put food in my body cavities.

Peggy,

Yes, Combat was a better WWII show than the Rat Patrol ever dreamed of being. I never got into F-Troop or McHale's Navy.

Twilight Zone versus The Outer Limits(original) ??? Hmmmm. Let me get back to you on that one. The OL could play with your head at times.

... By the way, according to IMDB, Christopher George eventually died due to an earlier injury he suffered on the set of the Rat Patrol. I didn't know that.
