Depends on how you define success--or, more to the point, how any given girl defines success. In terms of presence, recognition, respect, and accomplishment in porn/adult entertainment, as seen from outside, Allanah, Vicki, Vaniity, Joanna, and several others (we all know who they are) are successful. In the other highly visible arena, escorting, there are I think two different measures of success: how much income you generate (indicative of your appeal and marketing, though not necessarily of quality of service), and how well respected you are by your clients and others (check the reviews at SER and see who gets all 9s and 10s, and in what quantity--that's success, and reflects quality).
But how about successful in terms of living life as the woman a girl wants to be, in whatever walk of life she desires? That's real success to me, even if it goes unseen by most of the world. A girl who has transitioned to living 24/7 as a woman who is successful in business or any trade has achieved success even if she is unknown. Then there's success in terms of how close a girl has come to realize the beautiful woman she sees herself as being. This is highly subjective, as someone might be drop dead gorgeous to us guys, but be wholly unhappy with her looks and keep going for more surgery and all to enhance her vision of herself.
Dylan once said "You know there's no success like failure, and failure's no success at all." Ain't it the truth.

I think success is defined by each person not by other peoples standards.
I for one feel very blessed that I have been able to use my college degree to help market my website and myself. I am not the most beautiful ts but Ill make sure you know who I am before I stop. I own, operate, update, and manage my own website MOST OF the TIME. I have been negotiating my distribution for my video for almost a year with input from Senchai and the AEE Expo helped with contacts. I own my own car, Im buying my FIRST condo April 16th (SO EXCITED). So I am blessed which is successful to me. I still enjoy doing "drag" in the gay scene and have been successful to be in the Top 12 the last two years at Miss Gay USofA though Ive retired national pageants (Yes ALLANAH finally LOL) and start working on my home and certain surgerys.
Vicki has bought her own home without escorting all on the success of becoming one of the Top Transsexual SuperStars.
Allanah before her Ts SuperStar days was a NATIONAL Top 5 finalist at two of the top 4 national pageants. She is among the top independant Ts websites, the biggest Shemale Events, and she has succeeded to financially plan her surgerys and shoes LOL MUCH SUCCESS THERE.
THose are just examples of definitions of success so I think trying to define someone else's success would be hard because we all have our moments of success that define who we are NOT what others think of us.
Much Success to all my sisters in 2005

Wendy, congrats on getting your first condo! That's awesome; I was 35 before I owned my first condo (and was trapped there for 12 years because the market crashed three years later and I couldn't afford to get out, but now I've owned my own house for five years and it's great). You certainly are successful, and getting more so. What impresses me (since I don't know you other than through your posts here and at SER) about you is your intelligence and focus; the fact that you're setting your own terms and meeting life on your terms. Much success in 2005!

Would you include post op girls in your question? If so, there are a number of girls who have "made it" , particularly in modelling and entertainment (April Ashley, Tula, Roberta Close, Bibi Anderson, Dana International, but also in other walks of life (such as in the case of fashion designer Robertina Manganaro and New Zealand politician Georgina Beyer).
It is truly sad to hear stories such as those of Susan Shah and Sylvia Boots or of cases where transexuals or their partners are abused or, worse, killed (such as in the case of Barry Winchell, Calpernia Addams' lover - documented in the film "Soldier's Girl"). But it is good to hear of the successes too, of both preops and postops. It's not easy to make it in life when no almost one can understand you.

I agree that success is highly subjective. What I consider successful may be unfullfilling for someone else. If we can be happy, truly happy, no matter how much money or fame we have, we will have achieved success in our own mind. And that is what matters. We don't need to prove anything to anyone.

a verse from Love Minus Zero/ No Limit from Bringing it All Back Home. Great song from a great album. But I would a quote from Albert Schweitzer instead:
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
So with that in mind girls, and boys, I wish you success.

I have written for many mainstream as well as TS publications since 69 on the TS world. In my years I have got to know many TS ladies that are great in the professioinal field they choose. A few examples. My SO works in a key job at IBM, A dear friend went from hooker in Guam to RN and another went from the streets of the Tenderloin in SF to VP of a bank. And that is just the start. Allanah, a dear friend, I count in that group. There is a site run by Lynn Conelly that list many of the others but you have to remember for ever1 that is known as a TS there are 50 at least that are stealth.

Success, like beauty, is truly in the eye of the beholder.
To some, it may mean Fame. To others, it may mean wealth, inner peace, love of family, health, respect, a great job, a loving relationship, etc....
Just remember that whatever your definition of success is, take time and enjoy the journey towards that goal.
Peace

Yes, another favorite quote of mine. Thanks for reminding me!

I AGREE TOTALLY...
BECOMING A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AND THEN LIVING IT 24/7 IS THE REAL SUCCESS IN MY EYES.

I would like to nominate TrueBeautyTS as a "successfull Shemale "
Guys...This girl is not only Statuesque ( spell check ) but she is a LADY, does not cuss...Has class, finess, is a great friend, sweet, loves her family, has a beautiful job, plays tons of instruments, does not escort....I mean, she is a great friend and someone I aspire to be like in many ways...A true diva in my opinion.

I would second Truebeauty's nomination, except for the part about not cussing!! :) The girl can make a longshoreman blush if she wants to. :) she will no doubt curse me out for this next time we have lunch!
I have to nominate the nominator too tho. Danielle is one of the most beautiful, most talented and most generous and caring girls I have ever met. I have talked about her gifts on here before, but they bear repeating. She is a Pageant winner. She is one of the best stage performers out there. Don't beleive me, ask anyone who has seen her do a number. She can dance, She does impersonations. Her Cher is so good, she will be in a major movie this Spring. She is, obviously, a tremendous success in this field, as an AVN nominee. She is an extremely talented makeup artist already. She has shared a few of her portfolio pics on here. As good as she is, she is in in school to get better.
She is terrific photographer. She does web design, and video editing and digital photoshop . In short, she does a lot and does it all well.
Vicki Richter would also be a worthy nominee. In addition to her accomplishments in this area, she has completed an advanced degree, bought a house, and is establishing a good life for her future.
Meghan Chavalier is another friend of mine whom I consider to be a success. She has a good, long term relationship, a house, her own business and is a published novelist. Her first book, a sci-fi fantasy, is probably on shelves now.
Almost everyone one I know is a success in one way or another. As Truebeauty said, succeess can be defined in any number of ways. In the movie, Its a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart was the richest person in town because he had the most friends. I feel blessed to have so many successful friends.

First of all... wow! I don't know what to say. I don't know how much of that is TRUE but thank you anyway!!!!! LOL
Seriously, without turning this into a Mutual Admiration Society, there are SO many girls (both TS and GG) that I look up to and aspire to be like and certainly Danielle Foxxx and Felicia Katt are among them.
Danielle is simply one of those people that can do anything, and do it well. I wish I had half of her creativity and talent. You don't know what a hurricane is until you spend an entire day with Danielle going everywhere and doing everything in LA!!!! lol I feel very honored that I can call her a close friend.
Felicia.... what can I say? She's the glue that holds a lot of us girls together. She's the hooker with the heart of gold. (there, are you happy now???) lol She's always looking to have fun and she's there when you need her. And yes, you Brick, I'm proud to call you my friend, too!
Ok, let's get back to the mudslinging now.....

It's easy to agree with all the nice things being said about the various talented, attractive, intelligent and ambitious shemales mentioned in this thread (particularly Vicki, my #1).
However, there is one noticeable absentee: Tara Emory. She sems to have it all, including the will, wit, and energy to do it all on her own. I hope she can keep it up and get the wider recognition she deserves.

Felicia.... She's the hooker with the heart of gold. :
True and I are good friends, but she has never seen me golf. If she had, she would know I don't hook, I slice.
