Its not defamation, its a copyright violation, and a violation of their right to privacy. Posting a pic on a public site doesn't put it in the public domain or mean its fair game to be posted anywhere, especially on a site that might subject someone to embarassment or harassment.
That someone may be famous doesn't really give license for their pics to be posted everywhere either. If the pics are posted somewhere they would not wish to be associated with, its called false light and is also not legal.
