This was definately the year the t-girls took the AVN convention...despite the poor placement of Wendy/Tonya's booth and ours (Yum/Allanah/Gia) the attention was massive and I even managed to do some great business deals.

The fact that individual models or websites are getting together to promote themselves and their product is great.

Wendy, if you haven't booked for next year do it asap to get better placement and a discount. I booked ours yesterday and we're one of the 10x10 booths closest to the front and on a corner, so looking forward to that.

Joanna Jet was chosen as one of the few performers in the industry to present an award ("Our favourite transsexuals, Joanna Jet").

Vicki winning was predictable (did I call it on here?) but nonetheless, very deserving for the amount of work she does and driving 10,000's of guys crazy. It was a shame it was only announced and she wasn't invited up to collect it?

Alas, It figures that the year that "trannys take over" the convention is the year that I skip..

I had done AVN the last two years and found it a little unfriendly. Allright, I'll fess up- I was passing out my flyers (to anyone who took my picture, which was like almost everyone) and then the Queen Bee of the show (from AVN) scolded at me for doing that. Apparently since I hadn't bought a booth I couldn't pass out my business cards. What was even worse is a few months later I was at Erotica LA and she remembered me, and apparently I am on her Shit List or something.

Hey, I'll do AVN again if someone can give me a place to sit and sign, or at least is someone wants to Use Me As A Promotional Tool (hint hint).

Actually, I think the Evil Angel signing wasn't necessarily related to the win... However, being in four of their releases really helped for sure. Joey movies really are excellent product. EA also had female performer of the year Lauren Phoenix signing for them and most people agree with that nom being fair.

Lastly, the award has only existed two years. In 2003 Vaniity made a ton of movies and this past year I made quite a few and probably more than any other performer. I also think being in a movie (Tales of Perversity 11) which had several nominations for other awards in AVN really helped.

No reason to get depressed. Its obvious to anybody with common sense that you are an enterprising and hard worker. I'm sure your situation is temporary and you will eventually work it out. I've quit web sites for the reasons that the guy has listed above. However, I have signed back up at a later date when much new content has been added. If somebody is unhappy with your service then why can't they simply cancel the membership and send you a private email with their reasons? There really is no reason to bitch about it here. Coincidentally, we had been discussing poorly performing sites a couple of days ago, and he specifically singled Joanna's out for criticism. I posted because it seemed a good opportunity to catch Joanna (she had, obviously, been 'around' recently). I don't have Joanna's email address, and frankly couldn't be bothered finding it: I seized an opportunity as it presented.
Others here have, in the past, encouraged those of us who frequent the board to 'name and shame' the owners of dodgy sites. I have read Joanna's reply, and have a good deal of sympathy for her - those of us who have frequented the board for some time are well aware of Joanna's problems, and many of us have expressed regret at the state of affairs ahe was/is confronted with. Despite this, however, the simple fact is that Joanna's site is a business - and poorly performing businesses die. Blaming personal problems will only work for a finite length of time - Joanna's members have, I gather, been fairly tolerant - but mixed messages such as Joanna bragging at one point about her hectic party schedule whilst she is failing to administer her business do not help her cause. Frankly, it appears that she must either 'shape up, or ship out.'
Perhaps Joanna encapsulates what appears to be a serious problem facing single girl/girl run sites: a lack of content as compared to bigger and better sites such as those of the Grooby stable (not all of which are to my taste, but all of which I am happy to give due credit to for their value for money, and service to dedicated subscribers). In this sense, a much larger issue needs, perhaps, to be addressed.
I have absolutely no interest one way or the other in the specific issue of Joanna's site , but felt obligated to explain myself more fully. I have now done so. Let me first start by offering an apology to SidChromeAU. The wording in my previous reply was inappropriate and inconsiderate.

I, unusually for me, flew off the handle and pounded on my keyboard without allowing myself a cooling-off period to gather my thoughts. The main reason was finding myself described as unprofessionalism which is a trait I do care deeply about.

All of your comments but I wish to assure you their consequences are in no way as a result of a lack of concern, care or forgetfullness. For the last few months, all of my focus has been towards work in order to return my porn activities to the level they had reached in the summer of 2003.
I have no social life and any partying in which I partake (e.g. Allanah's parties) is for the purpose of public exposure and is a marketing aspect of my business.

I am as frustrated as anyone else (if not more) over the content issues on my site and find myself going barmy at the length of time it is taking to resolve.
The stumbling blocks to an immediate resolution of this problem are cashflow and resources.
Whilst cashflow is slowly recovering (from being actively addressed), it has yet to reach a level where I am able to fund the shooting of content beyond an update cycle. The release of Jet-Set 6 will make a significant impact by returning invested funds from earlier in the year but distribution payment cycles make this cash injection a few months down the road.
The cashflow situation creates a knock-on effect of reducing the window of opportunity in which to shoot content. This tight window causes the release schedule of updates to be directly affected by the availability or the delays of production resources.
Case in point, I have announced tomorrow as being the day of my mid-month update. With my photographer having blown me out both yesterday and today, I am left keeping my fingers crossed that he will come through tomorrow and I will therefore be just a few hours late. If this is not the case, then I will have to schedule an alternative photographer at zero notice and hope that he can bail me out within a couple of days, at which point, I have to get on a plane as he is 500 miles away. If I had content stock and shooting six weeks ahead, such a delay would be absorbed, thereby allowing me to avoid being branded as unprofessional.

With 33 items on my to-do list in order the relaunch of my online store, implement a fulfillment contract, close deals in progress for photoset swaps, schedule co-op shoots with a number of stars, encode and publish web streams of unpublished material, it is my hope that it will help to re-affirm amongst the doubtful of my commitment to re-establishing my web site to the level of professionalism that both you and I expect of Joanna Jet.


If nothing else, I am glad that this thread has allowed me to demonstrate my willingness to be honest and open (at the cost of being lengthy) in all aspects that are of influence on my porn career.


I am well known for being determined and persistent (some would simply say bloody-minded!!) and you can trust me to deliver on these words. I will make damn sure to remind you when I do too!! ;-)

The problems you have cited regarding your photographer speak, of course, to the issue I raised regarding smaller girl run sites: you have much fewer resources than the bigger sites,are relaint on others to capture you, and therefore must be extremely vulnerable to the sort of problems you have experienced.
Hopefully things will start looking up for you very soon. One possible 'silver lining' is that many lost members would probably consider re-signing when word gets arouns that you are back on track: boards such as this must be beneficial in that respect?

In answer to your questions:

I have no desire to shoot in Brazil as I consider the aural aspect of porn to be of great importance. As I release solely in English markets, my products remain solely English speaking.

Danielle Foxxx and I have already discussed and agreed future shoots. Danielle is also featured in the forthcoming Shemale Jet-Set 6.

I will be speaking to Allanah about future shoots during my visit to NYC at the end of this month.

Wendy has moved on a great deal as a performer since I initially shot her for Jet-Set 3. I therefore intend to cast her in my productions this year.

Vicki and I perform together, once again, in the soon to be released Shemale Jet-Set 6. Vicki has also confirmed that will perform for my future productions in this coming year.

In summary, the Jet-Set series strives, with each release to cast a mix of fresh/new talent and experienced/recognised stars.

The absence of many a star in the Jet-Set series is not as a consequence of a lack of recognition but from making unreasonable demands, being unable to submit the necessary documentation, cancelling a committed shoot or simply failing to show up on set at the agreed date and time.

I haven't watched a TS scene, including my own, so I am not really good at picking. I seriously doubt I would repeat, but I will probably get a nomination. I've blown off so much work this year because I just wasn't feeling it. Making a movie, for me, means getting off hormones for a month or two before. I also won't work for Anabolic because they have cross dressers in their movies.

Danielle has a really strong list of movies this year, especially since I don't think they got to count Rogue 23 for last year's award. I think Vaniity and Danielle are both in Rogue Adventures 26. I think it all boils down to Belladonna's movie and whether it is released before the deadline. I would, of course, wish that Danielle or Joanna win, but Vaniity has a good shot as well due to her 3-4 Evil Angel titles and it being her retirement year.

I can see your points. I thought since AVN has AVN and GAYVN (I believe), the next step would be TSVN. I can see them holding its own award show. I do not know how successful GAYVN is. If GAYVN is successful, I can see them starting a TS genre. If GAYVN is not successful enough, I can see them hestitating to start a TS genre. As far as the TS genre, it has exploded expontentially in the recent years in porn and now, it seems, TS-themed parties. I was hoping that AVN realizes the TS potential.
