clockwork orange is a classic...one of the first out there movies i have ever seen haha...that and full metal jacket def. 2 of my favorites...FMJ's first half is so great in the boot camp its like a seperate movie of its own.

Impressed! Have to say that I thought the film of 'A clockwork orange' was a pile of shit. I read the book by Anthony Burgess when I was about 15 and was blown away by it, excellent stuff. I saw the film(still banned then) when I was about 18 on a 12th generation vhs copy. While the film conveyed some of the book very well, especially the visual 'look' of the Droogs, use of Nadsat and of course the 'reformation' of Alex, I felt that many key themes of the book were under represented or just absent. Many people make a point of seeing this film and it has become known as a classic yet I feel that this is simply because it was banned or rather withdrawn by Stanley Kubrick due to the 'copycat' thuggery reported in english newsmedia at the time of release. Still ,despite this the iconic visual image of Alex and his 'Droogs' will always be as much a classic of cinema as the 'warriors'. Never liked the rape scene tho, just not funny, a bit too 'gonzo' for my eyes.

That's awesome!! Clockwork Orange did the same for me. I was in high school and all I remember is I was on something hallucenegenic at someone's giant house who I didn't know very well - watching it on one of those old big screen TVs - and that movie affected and scared me so much that I fled and called my mommy to come get me.
