Hadn't heard about this. A full-length TV show might be overkill for the cavemen, though. They probably work better in small doses.

Here's an amusing time waster: http://www.cavemanscrib.com/

I'd prefer to see a mock-reality tv show.

Well, whatever it turns out being, it is certainly a masterstroke for GEICO, a TV show based on their spokesmen -- free advertising in prime time. I can hardly wait for the gekko show.

LOL

And this

An open letter to our friends:

GEICO Auto Insurance has been using language in their advertising that perpetuates a negative stereotype. The slogan for their website, geico.com, is “So easy a caveman can do it.” This could not be more insensitive or offensive.

Just look at the types of things GEICO is saying about us:

heheh ---remember one of the very very first ones? ----when they were in the filming studio ---and the caveman guy was holding the mic boom --or whatever --------he was so pissed!!! ---all hairy --wearing shorts ---storming out of there -----I am laughing my ass off right now!! ------

I dunno --the whole caveman "miniseries via commercials" -----is awesome!!! ----no matter WHAT the show is about ---I am prolly gonna watch it --------but I do like Tfan's idea of a mock reality ---

I really hated those previous Geico commercials that tricked you into thinking it was about something else...really annoying, but I like the caveman. I'm glad they decided to stick with it.

The only Geico commercial that did it for me was the one of them accepting an apology at an outdoor restaurant from the Geico rep, all the while as the two caveman displayed not only their civility, but also their epicurean tastes (I'll have the roasted duck with the mango sauce, please...). That commercial hit a homerun.

That commercial proved once again that creativity and imagination will always trump the need for expensive special effects or high priced mega-stars pitching a product. How much could that caveman commercial have cost? What, just the cost of applying the make-up?

... It also helps to have a catchy tune sometimes to get one's attention, as Cadillac did with it's use of Iggy Pop and the Teddybears:

:)

Can anyone else think of a commercial that was low budget, and yet kicked ass ?
