Someone get the UN on the horn! Take us to DEFCON 4!
At least that was the consensus in the 70's! LMAO

Global cooling in general can refer to a cooling of the Earth; more specifically, it is a theory positing an overall cooling of the Earth's surface and atmosphere along with a posited commencement of glaciation. This theory gained temporary popular attention due to press reporting following a better understanding of ice age cycles and a temporary downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s. At present, the dominant (consensus) theory amongst scientists is that Earth as a whole is not cooling, but rather is in a period of global warming attributed to human activity.
Uh oh! More consensus science!
The Washington Post reports that in 1974 the National Science Board, the governing body of the National Science Foundation, stated:[15]
Quotes
During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade.
Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end . . . leading into the next glacial age.
Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end ... leading into the next glacial age. However, it is possible, or even likely, than human interference has already altered the environment so much that the climatic pattern of the near future will follow a different path. . .
LMAO, it's global cooling, but it could be global warming? LMAO
And finally, looks like the scientists pulled their heads out of their asses or came close to it with this-
The climates of the earth have always been changing, and they will doubtless continue to do so in the future. How large these future changes will be, and where and how rapidly they will occur, we do not know..
Hey libs, got any beach front property you want to sell? You know, in 10 years it'll all be under water anyway. I'm payin 50 cents on the dollar just like Mr Potter. Any takers?
