Wow! You're a real subversive.
All paranoia aside. I think America has learned a lot from the Cold War. I see a potential for cooperation between America and those 2nd world countries.
What makes a civilization a SUPERPOWER, is not population. It's VALUES. If America loses influence, it won't be because of weapons or resources. It will be because America lost it's values.
The American way of life.... life, liberty and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS is why America is the worlds best, last hope for survival. It's why all those mexicans, chinese and indians immigrate here.
Diametrically opposite to this is the socialist agenda. When the "common good" is more important than the individual and nuclear family, we've got a problem.
In the words of the founder of the REPUBLICAN party, Abraham Lincoln-
"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."
Word up! Lincoln!

i quite agree, TFan; and when the commons is gone, we've got another problem. BALANCE is a virtue to be VALUED as well. frankly, i don't think people in this country disagree on values. family, truth, honesty, integrity, freedom, the list is quite long and it pretty much the same list on the coasts as in the west, the midwest and the south. there is no war against values, just a lot of jousting at windmills.
