Can you say DIVA PELOSI?? Seriously a Learget G5 fully outfitted isn't adequate? Has anyone seen how luxurious those G5's are??? PIMP. SHe's a frigging hypocrite like AL Gore...her carbon footprint is the size of 1,000 Hummers sitting in traffic if she had her way to have her own 747. I tell you these politicians are so self-aggrandizing, power seeking, double talkers.

Didn't you hear her quote? It's because of...get this...national security

Because, as you well know America will immediately come to a grinding halt if something should happen to the Speaker of the House.

It's bad enough they only work 3 days a week, now she needs her own jet?

I say we should save even more taxpayer money, and tell her to take Greyhound.

I've never been able to afford first class tickets anywhere, so it burns my ass that our public servants fly everywhere first class, and we pick up the tab.

Over $$300,000 per flight one way to the taxpayers vs. 5,000 for a G5. It gives new meaning to the term limosine liberal.

FACT CHECK: Washington Times Publishes False Report On Pelosi’s Use Of Military Aircraft

On February 1, the Washington Times published a story titled “Speaker pursues military flights,” which claimed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had been “pressing the Bush administration for routine access to military aircraft for domestic flights, such as trips back to her San Francisco district.” Former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) also used military aircraft to travel to his district. However, the Times reported, Pelosi is “demanding permanent access to a large military jet for herself, her staff, other Members and supporters.”

The story was disseminated widely through right-wing talk radio and blogs, spurring posts like, “First Class Pelosi,” “Air Force Becomes Pelosi Air,” “Nancy Pelosi is Drunk With Power,” “The Imperial Speakership,” “Pelosi: Fly Me Awayyyyy,” “Pelosi wants military airlift,” and “Nancy Pelosi’s Private Military Plane.”

In fact, the central claims of the Washington Times piece are both false.

1) The House Sergeant at Arms, not Pelosi, initiated inquiries into the use of military aircraft. House Sergeant at Arms Wilson Livingood, who has served in his position since 1995, released a statement today clarifying the facts. He writes, “In December 2006, I advised Speaker Pelosi that the US Air Force had made an airplane available to Speaker Hastert for security and communications purposes following September 11, 2001.” Additionally, Livingood writes, “I offered to call the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense to seek clarification of the guidelines [which governed Speaker Hastert’s use of a plane].”

2) A larger plane was requested because Hastert’s plane required refueling to travel cross-country. The Washington Times says a larger plane was requested to accomodate Pelosi, “her staff, other Members and supporters.” That’s not true. In fact, the plane used by Speaker Hastert was too small for Pelosi since it “needs to refuel every 2,000 miles and could not make the nonstop haul to California. ‘The Air Force determined that [Pelosi’s] safety would be best ensured by using a plane that has the fuel capacity to go coast-to-coast,’” a Pelosi spokesperson said.

Read the full Sergeant at Arms statement:

STATEMENT BY SERGEANT AT ARMS

In December 2006, I advised Speaker Pelosi that the US Air Force had made an airplane available to Speaker Hastert for security and communications purposes following September 11, 2001.

I told Speaker Pelosi that Speaker Hastert used the Air Force plane for travel to and from his district, however, I was uncertain of the rules and guidelines governing use of the plane. I offered to call the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense to seek clarification of the guidelines.

Subsequently, several members of the Speaker’s staff and members of the Office of the Sergeant at Arms met with representatives from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the U.S. Air Force liaison office to discuss the rules and guidelines which governed Speaker Hastert’s use of a plane. Several questions were posed to the Air Force and we are awaiting a response.

Oh, I agree, one would think, wouldn't they? But they're not doing it because they're Dems or Reps, they're doing it because their politicians. Politician A only criticizes Politician B, when B is getting a perq that A isn't. Once that perq is made available to A, the complaining miraculously stops...what a shocker.

I give heat equally between Dem and Reps. It's probably because I'm a Libertarian.

The problem with the Dems is that their fiscal policies stink
The problem with the Reps is that their social policies stink just as bad.

TFan is the clown who recently said we should all listen to Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly, both "paragons of virtue and credibility" if there ever were any for our information. Hours ago he denied the Anna Nicole Smith death simply because CNN reported.
Yeah, lets focus on the speaker's private jet issue, brought on by the Sargeant of Arms in a post 9/11 world and actually defended by Tony Snow of all people, when it can divert the country from American helicopters going down in Iraq or billions of dollars missing with no one in this current administration being held accountable for it. What a joke.

No. You'll manipulate the facts. Excluding some and including whatever justifies your means.

Case in point. In spite of Liberal Democrat cries for less fuel consumption. In spite of Pelosi's cries for conservation; That jet uses far more fuel per person than a commercial jetliner.

Do as we say, not as we do!

Where's the cries for conservation now? Or is it like in Soviet Russia. Only those in power have the right of overconsumption? LMAO. The socialist mind manipulates.

The facts are that the pentagon offered this psycho a jet. She accepted because of course, her own principles don't apply to her in her mind.

Where's the conservation? It's hypocrisy!

So what the Hell does the Speaker of the House do:

Although he / she is elected as an officer of the House,
the Speaker continues to be a Member of the House as
well. Accordingly he continues to have the same rights,
responsibilities, and privileges as all Members. However,
because of his position as leader, the powers granted to
other Members, including debating, voting, and sitting as
a member of a standing committee of the House, may be
controversial when exercised by the Speaker.

Under the principles articulated in Jefferson's Manual,21
the Speaker is typically only heard on matters of order,
and it is highly irregular for him to speak on any other
matter while presiding. The Speaker, however, may speak
from the floor (as would any other Member), and the
precedents of the House include examples of the Speaker
leaving the chair to speak from the well, make motions22
or debate a point of order.23 However, in most periods in
the history of the House these privileges were infrequently
exercised

Interestingly if Cheney were to bust a cap in Bush, the
Speaker Of The House becomes the President, here is the
order of sucession.

1 Vice President and President of the Senate Dick Cheney
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi
3 President pro tempore of the Senate Robert C. Byrd
4 Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
5 Secretary of the Treasury Henry M. Paulson, Jr.
6 Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
7 Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
8 Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne
9 Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns
-- Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez
(ineligible; not a natural-born citizen)†
-- Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao
(ineligible; not a natural-born citizen)†
10 Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt
11 Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson
12 Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters
13 Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman
14 Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings
15 Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson
16 Secretary of Homeland Security

In spite of Liberal Democrat cries for less fuel consumption

Haven't Republicans cried for less fuel consumption?

I think it is far more hypocrisy for Bush to speak about fuel consumption but be in bed with the oil companies, it is far more hypocritical for him to allow big oil to take part in writing our nation's energy policy, and just a flat out joke that Bush wants to invest money in battery technology for fuel consumption when many of those patents are owned by his big oil buddies.

Scientist serious about fuel consumption have made claims for years that these oil companies are purposely holding this technology back.

That does not compare to a person simply using the vehicle that was ordered for them by their security.

Yet and still the conservative liars like Rush, Hannity and all the other Fox con artist will sell this story like Pelosi ordered this plain and fought tooth and nail to get it.

If all they did was focus on the consumption angle, I could see it just being a fair but sneaky political attack. They will go for the lie. Just you wait and see.

If Rush or Savage say it, count it. ...He is a pawn, a lemming ... a non-critically thinking joke.

From the AP ...

"I have never asked for any larger plane," Pelosi said. "I have said that I am happy to ride commercial if the plane they have doesn't go coast to coast."

To presidential spokesman Tony Snow, "This is a silly story and I think it's been unfair to the speaker."

Haven't Republicans cried for less fuel consumption?

I haven't. My car is packing a V-8 and 382 hp. 15 miles to the gallon, pal.... the way I drive.

LMAO. You've failed to address Nancy Pelosi's hypocrisy. Choosing instead to point out percieved hypocrisy in others. Are you that desperate to hide the truth?

But I'll entertain. Bush has called for a greener America, which does not include the "Shared scarcity" that liberals like Pelosi have called for. What Republicans are talking about is USE AS MUCH ENERGY AS YOU NEED, we're going to find greener ways to develop it.

It's liberal democrats, in their vain attempts to impede the peoples right to run their own affairs and businesses, that are calling for insane conservation.

Scientist serious about fuel consumption have made claims for years that these oil companies are purposely holding this technology back.

Fuck those scientists. Let them drive their mopeds. Just make sure they don't get in my way.

That does not compare to a person simply using the vehicle that was ordered for them by their security.

Ordered for them? Who is forcing her to take it? Why doesn't she stand behind her own principles and flatly decline the jet?

Why not?

Yet and still the conservative liars like Rush, Hannity and all the other Fox con artist will sell this story like Pelosi ordered this plain and fought tooth and nail to get it.

Her acceptance of this plain is an implied order. She has the right of refusal. She not only accepted it, she asked for a BIGGER ONE!

If all they did was focus on the consumption angle, I could see it just being a fair but sneaky political attack. They will go for the lie. Just you wait and see.

Sneaky to ask people to stand by their own principles?

It is not at all about not liking big oil, it is about not bending the country over so they can fuck us in the ass just to make more and more money. Close oil ties are bad when you are beholden to them. When you change laws for them, when those ties factor into the starting of a war, when you allow drilling in places like Anwar.

Close ties to oil are bad when you stunt the growth of promising technologies like solar power (like Regan did).

When big oil writes the energy policies for the country it is bad for most of America, look at gas prices. Just like it is bad of the drug companies to be allowed to write the Medicare drug policies.

The result is they get higher profits and we end up paying more.

Close ties to big oil are why we have to spend so much effort, money and lives in the middle east. I fuckin hate how we have to kiss the asses of the Saudis (liberal and conservatives).

I get it, TS Fan you have drank the Kool Aid and conservatives can do no wrong while liberals are evil and want to destroy the country. I see the way your brain works. It’s great to help the oil industry get stronger while prices for oil double. That is great for America.

Which administration gave us our debt (Reagan), and which administration has fed this enormous tumor the last six years, for which our grandchildren will be paying through higher taxes and less services ?

Clowns such as TFan will holler and wail over this Pelosi jet issue, but completely ignore the hundreds of billions the current moron-in-charge has squandered in Iraq, or the fact that energy companies helped write energy policies for this country. What denial and hypocrisy at work.

Close oil ties are bad when you are beholden to them. When you change laws for them, when those ties factor into the starting of a war, when you allow drilling in places like Anwar.

And this is what I dont get about you people. You want oil independence but obviously, your actions don't match your words. You don't really want independence because if you did, you would weigh the pro's of domestic drilling against your stated cons against Arab Oil (ie, supporting terrorism)

Right now, today, how do you propose we work toward independence? Ethanol ain't gonna be the full solution. It will be a part of it but as demand rises for ethanol, so will prices rise to match fossil energy. Ethanols energy potential is something like 60% of oils energy potential... that means lots and lots and lots of crops.

I say this sincerely. This country needs oil. Get your politicians out of our way and we can make leaps and bounds milestones toward independence.

Close ties to oil are bad when you stunt the growth of promising technologies like solar power (like Regan did).

Solar energy will be a part, but no one is getting in the way of solar research. I think you're being paranoid. No one is "stunting" the growth of Solar Energy. Since 1901, private citizens and corporations are free to and have been investing in research to improve it, in fact. The government needs to get out of the way. Eliminate taxes and certain regulations on these alternative energy pioneers.

When big oil writes the energy policies for the country it is bad for most of America, look at gas prices. Just like it is bad of the drug companies to be allowed to write the Medicare drug policies. The result is they get higher profits and we end up paying more.

If you think there's something the government can do, short of theft, to reduce oil prices, you're wrong. There are big market forces that set price points

Close ties to big oil are why we have to spend so much effort, money and lives in the middle east. I fuckin hate how we have to kiss the asses of the Saudis (liberal and conservatives).

I see. The war is about oil, right? I forgot how deluded you are.

I get it, TS Fan you have drank the Kool Aid and conservatives can do no wrong while liberals are evil and want to destroy the country. I see the way your brain works. It’s great to help the oil industry get stronger while prices for oil double. That is great for America.

Alright. Whenever I reduce someone to straw man arguments, I declare victory. You accept that my points are valid and wave the straw-man-white-flag of defeat.

Dear Scarecrow. If you only had a brain!

Bullshit. The Democrats aren't without their faults, but they are the lesser of two evils by far of late. Which party has borrowed and spent since Reagan first took office? Which administration gave us our debt (Reagan), and which administration has fed this enormous tumor the last six years, for which our grandchildren will be paying through higher taxes and less services ?

Clowns such as TFan will holler and wail over this Pelosi jet issue, but completely ignore the hundreds of billions the current moron-in-charge has squandered in Iraq, or the fact that energy companies helped write energy policies for this country. What denial and hypocrisy at work.

And who pulled this country out of your fucking Carters "Crisis of Confidence" and double digit unemployment and inflation after all your socialist programs (public housing) failed miserably?

Stupid Fuck,

Yeah, that sorry Carter. Unlike Reagan he didn't want to borrow and spend his way to turning the country around. Carter stuck to his convictions, and did not put this country's future on a credit card, similar to what the current dunce is doing. It's only conjecture as to what Carter's policies might have produced had he been elected, but I doubt he would have pulled a Reagan and placed tis country under such burdensome debt.

Housing versus homelessness. Yeah, just another example of compassionate Conservatism. What kind of fucked up God do you follow again?

It's Reagan's debt, genuis. Deal with it, dumbfuck.

The Pelosi situation can be compared to the Clintons when they moved to Chappaqua. Black people love the Clintons, he's even been called America's first black president. He opened an office in Harlem, and was on the front page of the newspaper saying, "call me homeboy"!!

Yet when it came time for them morons to buy a house in NY they picked Chappaqua a town that is 98% white!!!! Typical liberal, "do as I say not as I do" bullshit!

No way in hell will you get lower gas prices, consumption, or any real push for alternative fuels when the powers that be are in bed with an industry as big as big oil.

Talk to people in the solar energy field and ask them what they feel about what Regan and Bush 1 did to that industry at the request of big oil.

Is this war about oil, I would not go that far. But were these Africans with no riches we would not be there. Oil is a part of the end game. Hell, we wouldn’t have half the problems that we have over there at all were it not for oil. The power that they have over us is huge.

Where were they supposed to buy a house, in Harlem?

I'm Black and I don't expect a white person to live in a Black neighborhood. I don't expect Black people to live in a Black neighborhood nor do i question thier Blackness, so why is a white man living in a white town an issue? I damn sure don't expect a multimillionare to not living amongst others of his social stature, that has nothing to do with race.

When did Clinton tell anyone to live with Black people?

Why is this even an issue?

If you're going to get on your high horse and preach about race relations and what Democrats do or don't do, then also tell us about how Neocons, Republicans, and old school Conservatives set an example? You can start with Strom Thurmond.

We gave you reasons why Harlem wouldn't be practical, or that just because he decided to open an office there in Harlem does not mean he has to live there also. He has a right to live wherever he wants to.

My point is, if you're going to point a finger as to what is right and what is wrong, then set us straight. Give me an example of how Conservatives treat minorities. You can't point a finger at what you perceive as hypocrisy if you or your party is engaging in sordid behavior yourself.

The Clintons live in a town where people are of thier same socioeconomic status like most people do. This has nothing to do with race.

Most people who make the kind of money that they have made live in predomonately white neighborhoods, that goes for Black people as well as white people.

You could look at the homes of most successful atheletes, actors, and rappers and in most cases you will see that they are more prone to live in mostly white areas. Not because they don't want to live around Black people, they just want to live around people on the same path as them.

There aren't but a handful of high dollar Black neighborhoods or cities.

Why would you assume that race played any part in them living there?

As insulated as they are they wouldn't have to come in contact with a Black person even if they did live in some more racially mixed area.

I take it with the "goodnight" that you gone.

I'm just not seeing why a person of a group that fights for intergration and civil rights would be looked down upon because they choose to live where they wanted to. I could see if this was Klan country or something.

I fight for the rights of the poor, so does that mean I can't have a nice house. I live in a pretty decent area where only a handful of Blacks live does that say something about me? If I got 6 million dollars and choose to live in some all white city does that say something about my Blackness?

Black people know full well that intergration is not about races mixes and saying 'hey, lets all live together'. The intergration fight was and is more about not denying Blacks and others thier right to live where they want to live and where they can afford to live.

Martin Luther King wasn't saying 'hey white people, come live with us'. It was more 'don't set burning crosses on our lawns if we move to your area'. It is about fair housing practices. Black folks could give a shit where white people choose to live as long as they don't fuck with us. I've never seen Black people get happy because some white people moved in thier area. Addressing your first paragraph, yes the Clintons want integration and diversity and all that. But by living in an town that is 98% white they are doing the total opposite of what they preach. Its obvious. You telling me thay couldnt find a mansion in a mixed town?? Be real!

2nd paragraph. Yes it does say something about your blackness. Why wouldnt you want to live with your own? I do, its totally normal. Clintons dont think its normal though, but they do it anyway.

3rd paragraph, yes integration is partially about living together. The rest you write is correct.

4th, every race should be able to live with their own, the liberals in government are trying to deny white people that right. The Clintons get away with it though.

Keep this conversation civil, and free of name calling. Its immature. :)

Your an idiot
Your "hero" Michael Savage hates transexuals....
Why dont you call his show and tell him you post your silly conservative views on a TRANNY FORUM!!!!

I love guys like you.

Not to be overly pedantic, but the invective that grammatically starts with (your) and not (you're) in "Your an idiot", not only shows a failure with the English lexicon, but also the irony of your statement. I wont hold it against you in the future, its probably just something you need to improve upon.

But it is typical of the lowest common denominators in debate are the likes of you who seek to throw out a red herring and perjoratives in a pathetic attempt to misdirect the topic.

Now to Mike Savage, since you find him so offensive and have mischaracterized his positions on transexuals and homosexuals in general. And as i have listened to him over 10 years and know his positions clearly through the sarcasm, folly, and sensationalism that surrounds his show that many cannot grasp.

Mike Savage has repeatedly remarked that he has no animosity or hatred towards the individual, their private sexual proclivities, or their cast in life. Mike has lived in SF for 30+ years and one cannot live in a heterosexual bubble of hate for others in his community and still say that he "loves San Francisco and the people" which he has.

Let me repeat, Mike Savage is not homophobic IMO (and if he were i would not strongly support him), or wanting harm to come to a single person in the lesbian, bisexual, gay, or transexual person!!!

This is important distinction that many on the left try to ignore, as they do with most of his issues like being a Nationalist. They try and paint him as a xenophobe or a clan member to debase his opinion or marginalize him (now isn't that ironic coming from the left). Anyways, this is where Mike takes offense. It is with the very powerful homosexual activist organizations and politics that in his eyes are changing the traditional views that he grew up with. Granted they may be to the progressive, antiquated and out of step with San Francisco social engineering attempts, but his views resonate with a very large population of still very traditional types who do not support gay marraige, and other social programs that some of the hard core homosexual groups are pushing.

This is his right to disagree. We still live in a free society with a diversity (to use a SP term) of opinion right? Mike can espouse his offense with the homosexual lobbies and what they want to obtain, and still remain respectful on an individual basis to many of his gay supporters (yes he has many), and to those gays who he just calls friends (yes he has many).

Now, personally, i do not agree with Mike Savage on some of these gay issues. I am a person who dated TG's and will continue to support them as i have. I support Mike Savage on a variety of other non-homosexual one issue topics from border control to fiscal and personal responsibility. I find no duplicitous notion or confusion in my politics or personal sexual tastes with this.

Its really the narrow minded type like yourself who cannot accept that ONE issue does not make the man, or define oneself. We are all complicated creatures and i am certainly balanced with my love and passion for all the people in my life (like Mike) that are black, asian, gay, handicapped, or poor. I decide my politics on how i think best i think humans should be equitably treated in a reasonable and rational way that does not cave to powerful lobbies, brown shirt leftists or rightists, or religious fanatics.

I think its time you do so to.

Word! This is where many of these people are misguided. I disagree with Bush on certain issues (ie immigration), but on balance he gets my support because I think that not only is he a great husband, father and man, but a great leader. He's made some mistakes but a man will make mistakes. Things will go wrong. It takes a big man to admit to mistakes and make corrections. George W Bush has done this. Meanwhile it's leftist bitches sitting in their padded chairs, screaming "WE'RE LOST! WE'RE LOST!" like that bitchy exgirlfriend that you stopped taking calls from. To me, this exposes the feminine nature of the democratic party.

Let the man do his fucking job and stop jocking, bitch!

As for Mike Savage. I disagree with his quasi-hatred of Bush. Sometimes he goes into "We're lost" mode and that's when I click over to John and Ken here in SoCal.

Lots of people around here are sheep, plain and simple. I don't hide my beliefs even if some are outside the boundaries of Conservatism. every race should be able to live with their own, the liberals in government are trying to deny white people that right.

On what planet are you living?

How are liberals denying white people any right to live anywhere they want to? I've yet to see any laws passed that disallowed any white person the right to move into any neighborhood in America. I haven't even seen anything like that even proposed by any law maker.
