There's alot of talk about thread posting and hijacking threads, that's practically an annual discussion on this forum, it is what it is

one thing that is VERY ANNOYING are EXTREMELY LARGE AVATARS

there's nothing worse than going to a good thread and having to scroll left to right even if your monitor settings are at say 1280 x 1024 because someone couldn't make their avatar a reasonable size

On most forums I will customarily post like this, to
avoid just that possibility.

It's sometimes time consuming but then as you say,
folks wont have to scroll to the extreme left to read
the text.

It makes sense to me, Peggy: you were demonstrating that one way to beat the endlessly long horizontal scroll forced by overly large avatars (not to mention pics, but few here object to that) is to format your reply with linebreaks to keep it all within margins. I've often done the same (though I'm usually too lazy).

Apparently nobody really sems to care about the size of avatars

if you look in your profile settings ,where you set up avatars it clearly states that avatars are to be no larger than 90x90 pixels

looking through the forums almost every one I've seen excedes these limits ,these are avatars that have been here for quite a while

and some of the biggest offenders are staff members of the forums :roll:

if site staff doesn't follow the rules then how do you expect anyone else to follow them????

look the 90 x 90 was here even before I was a mod, and while I often go over it myself I due to try to keep the file size below 15k, but to be fair my avatar (since you wanted to call me out on it) doesn't do what I initially made this thread about (make you have to scroll left to right to read an entire reply)
