The area is midtown manhattan, seems like mostly a business area, so there doesn't seem to much going on at night.

I wasn't going to stay here, but the prices dropped a bit in the last few days, so I booked a room at Hotel 5a (http://www.hotel5a.com/). Its a good hotel a short walk from the club.

There are two Hotel W's and 39th and Lex - short taxi to the party and they seem to have plenty of rooms. I'm on a company account so I gotta suite and will certainly be willing to accomodate a polite courtesan.

It's still up in the air wether I will be at this one.. I have a big (two weeks!) trip to Jamacia coming up in less than a week, and have a lot of business to get out of the way before that (setting up website updates while I am away, packing, making new outfits for Kink In the Caribbean, finishin my second video etc..), that if I do show up, it might just be a quick - stay a few hours- drive home appearance.. without any overnight stay.. Plus I am having intermittent car trouble, so it's looking more and more iffy. I hope I can make it though.

I'm not sure what I would wear. Since I dress up in costumes all year round, Halloween isn't that special, and I could care less about the dracula/Frankenstien/monster angle of Halloween. Here's to hoping the DJ doesn't play "The Monster Mash"... If that happens, watch for me to roll my eyes. ;)

Changing the subject- Am I the only one who is a just a teensy weensy bit offfended by the "Shemale God - So much shemale porn, it's a SIN" banner? I'm known as being a farily irreverent person, but their slaes pitch seems to cross the line (especially using Jesus in the ad).. And if huge quantities of Shemale Porn is a sin, would smaller quantities of Shemale Porn NOT be a sin? Hell, I thought thinking impure thoughts to the girls in bras in the Sears circular in the sunday newpaper would be considered a sin in the eyes of well, the sort of people who say what is and what isn't a "sin"- never mind huge amounts of "Shemale Porn".

And shouldn't it be "shemale goddess"? I guess shemalegoddess.com was already taken.... "Shemale God" just puts the Christian/male thing on top of it, which is just plain wrong in my book. Maybe not wrong, but just uncomfortably wierd.

Well, the fates have conspired against me on this party.

I left Mass at about 7pm, and hoped to get into the party around 11 or so.. I got about 25 miles in, and then my rear drivers side tire blew. And shredded to pieces. I had having some car problems, but none of which had anything to do with a back tire being on the verge of a spectacular blowout.

So.. on the side of the highway I put on that stupid little donut spare they give you these days . Ahh, I long for those days when cars came with full size spares. I drove one exit up and turned around to go back home (where I could throw on another Saab wheel). Any thoughts of driving the 200 miles to NYC on the donut spare went out the window when the spare went flat! And shreded to pieces! I guess when they say not to go over 40, you shouldn't! Actually, I think the donut spare was almost flat and that's why it blew out too.

On my shredded spare, I limped back to Sears, which was still open, and bought a new tire. There was a local cop driving around, asking if I was allright, as I rolled by shredded tire into Sears.

Then I went back out to drive my car into the garage, and the cop was still hanging around. He chatted with me for a little bit, and then asked "Are you Tara Emory?". Why yes.. yes I was, I answered.. Then I went through the whole story about where I was headed to, and he knew about Allanah's parties, though he hadn't gone to one. It was all very very strange, but I have had people recognize me in public before (It's happened twice in Boston so far).

Anyway, but the time i had the new tire put on, and with me being without a spare at all, I figured I couldn't possibly get to the party in time (It's now almost 10pm as I write this, and I would be like 3 1/2 hours away if I really flew there).. Damn, and I really wanted to do a ton of lap dances this time. Damn Damn

I hope there's going to be a party in November.. Maybe then I will plan it as an overnight/hotel stay escorting trip, not a little pop-my-head-in visit like this.

Damn.. Damn damn. Though I tend to take these flat tires as omens..Maybe there was a huge car accident that I would have been in had I not got the flat tire. Hmmm.

I've done the train before, and it's okay if you're going to stay overnight. I was just going to drive in, attend the party and drive back (unless I left the club with someone particuarly cute).. I did this at the Wild Wild west themed party, and it worked well, though I was damn tired when I got back.

Sorry to hear about that, Tara. You never know if you were saved from a major accident or if it was just a fluke. Quite a story about the cop, though! I'm sitting this party out, too. I went to the last, but it's a bit too loud and crowded for me, unless I'm with someone I know (which I was last time).

Sorry to hear about ur car trouble, I wasn't at this one. the last one did seem extremely crowded. I would hope to hit the Nov party. Tara why not take the shuttle, although its a few more bucks you'll get to NYC in 20-30 minutes. Its just like as soon as you take off you hear the captain saying return 2 your seats we're landing :lol:

Shuttle? you mean fly? Uh, when's the last time you flew on an airplane? A little something called 9/11 made it so you have to get to any airport 2 hours early (+ 45 minutes to get to the airport), and once you factor in getting from the airport to the club (the plane doesn't land anywhere near Manhattan), you're looking at like 5+ hours for the whole trip, not to mention that yeah, it's more expensive.

I've done the train or the Chinatown bus before, and that's probably the quickest way, but since I wanted the option of leaving whenever I wanted to, and the fact that in the past I was able to just park on the street for free near the club (as long as I wansn't foing to stay overnight), I wasn going to drive. Under normal circumstances, I wouldv'e gotten there just fine, probably in like 3.5 hours

When I come to the next one, it will be a time when I am not so busy preparing for another trip, and I'll stay overnight, and either drive or take the train.
