I have identified as a woman for 6/7 years. I would like to live as female but there are several factors which make me worried such as society not accepting trans women (esp where I live), changing rooms/toilets, being mocked in the workplace etc.

I have dated one guy and one other trans woman and lived (indoors) as a woman and felt happy. Both relationships were mostly sexual so whether my happiness was a thrill of something new or it being taboo (by society rules - trans people aren't fully accepted so this is true and I seriously wished it wasn't)

Therefore I wish to seek acceptance for who I am with, initially, with people who share an interest in my way of life.

I don't expect any responses to this thread but speaking my mind has already helped me a lot

Thanks for sharing. I can't offer any advice, as you know your own situation best, but I empathize with your dilemma and wish you the best. It must take a lot of courage to decide to transition publically.

It could depend on where you live, as places like London and Manchester are more accepting than others. I am not sure that there is the same level of hostility here as there is in the US and other countries, maybe don't read the Telegraph if you don't want to get upset. A lot of people do things in private they would never do in public. I knew someone like that in the 1980s who would never go out dressed, it was too much. Your choice. Maybe try the WayOut or Zodiac and take a friend for support.
