This video is an hilarious critique of Jamie Oliver -known to tv viewers in the UK for his 'chuck it all in' style of cooking, and the enthusiasm with which he tastes his own creations. I guess there is more than one way to make Pad Thai and improvise, but then I also think sometimes Asian demands for precision in the use of ingredients makes sense. And yes, maybe the best way to eat authentic Thai food is to go there.
Judge for yourself (but note Uncle diverts his rant for an ad about VPN so sorry for that).

A list, this time of the US Fast Food Chains that can be found all over the world...but for most of them not in the UK. We do have McDonalds, Chipotle, I think there might be a Wendy's somewhere, Five Guys is more common and I have seen one Popeye's in a town called Reading. Not sure about Taco Bell.
I am partial to junk sometimes, but I try to avoid it, and definitely not the mountains of slush I have seen on a US programme called Man vs Food.
And in my experience, Transexuals love junk food. I do know one who is now a fastidious dieter, but in the past it was McD or KFC.
Fascinating stuff, what?

It wasn't his pad thai that started Uncle Roger on his rant on Jamie Oliver. It was his fried rice and very much justified. Jamie Oliver is a cook, not a chef. He can put together decent family meals and his heart is in the right place, I've used a few of his recipes from Italy before. But at the end of the day, most home cooks can do better than he does.
Uncle Roger was funny for 10 mins ... but has never moved on and just boring now. I've watched some of Nigel's stand-up (Uncle Roger) and it's ok but a bit one dimensional also.
My fried rice game is pretty much fucking perfect :-)

You don't need to go to Thailand to have the best Thai food. The best I've had in the world, is a restaurant in Newcastle, ran by Thai women.
There is lots of mediocre Thai food around tho catering to anglo palates (or what they think anglo palates are).

I defer to your culinary skills, and agree re Oliver. I had never heard of Uncle Roger before, but can see how irritating he can be after a while.
Bon Appetit!

Taco Bell was the favourite of a young woman who caused quite a stir on the web nearly two decades ago confirming my point about transitioning folks and junk food. I wonder - is it the hormone regime?

Please, sir, I don't want more.
Anyway, people who need artichokes in their diet must have a lot missing in their life.
Look, like most people I like Stanley, even if he lives in Holland Park, probably not far from David and Victoria. Not all the best food is Italian, and the best Italian food is either found in Italy or New York (best pizza I ever had was in Greenwich Village. I just wonder if the joint was owned by the Mafia for money laundering purposes, coz it doesn't mean the food must be bad) and pasta is currently something wise people avoid if they want to lose weight, rather than gain it.
Chin Chin, salute Tucci! Another Negroni, per favore.

I have been watching Masterchef USA, this one featuring people who were in previous seasons. What strikes me about this compared to the UK version is the lack of any detail on the food and how it is prepared. It is all about the end product, though as with the UK version I don't understand people who take part in a cooking competition who freely admit they don't do pastry when they know it is going to be part of the tasks at some point. Most unusual: Gordon Ramsay not peppering every sentence with Fuck's sake! and other tasty words and phrases.
Tonight a contestant chose to make a cheese cake, the easiest thing to make, and screwed it up. He put his pastry in the blast chiller instead of the fridge, it came out like concrete. Why anyone would choose to make a Mille-Feuille I don't know, it is a nightmare in the time given, but the contestant is from Brooklyn, where I doubt anyone has ever heard of a Napoleon, unless it is a racehorse.
Bon Appetit!

So, farewell then, Greg Wallace. You are a bit of a geezer. With a potty mouth, or so we are told.
Just don't replace him with James Martin or another chef/cook/tv personality. Maybe change the whole format of Masterchef?
Anyone here want a job? Send a postcard to the BBC with your credentials.

Food fit for a King. But why does it always sound better in French?
