I could have quoted something Vance said on a Tucker Carlson show, ‘I don’t care about Ukraine’ but it would not be some ‘America First’ claim relating to the old saw about the US not becoming involved in foreign wars, only he kebabs himself when dismissing Ukraine and supporting the US guarantees to Israel.

Vance doesn’t seem to care that the majority of Americans, when polled, don’t like his views or policies on Abortion or Gun Control. This seems to be the Republican mindset- ‘what we think and what we want are the only things that matter’.

So is he now an asset or a liability?

But here is a dilemma: Does JD Vance think the time has come, or will come, when it will be illegal for Roman Catholic schools to hire childless Priests and Nuns to teach children?

This misses the point that Vance himself has said again and again -it doesn't matter if he lies, the aim in lying about the price of a dozen eggs while holding two dozen in front of a sign that proves he is wrong, is to generate discussion about food prices. He could avoid the lies and just say 'let's talk about the price of groceries' but that would not work. And lying in this way also proves that he holds the people in contempt, just as the Republicans are a minority of Americans with the majority of power, dictating their policies, for example on Abortion and Gun Rights, on people that don't want them.

This is the future, truth be damned, the Govt will make the decisions, not the markets, and not the people. Another inedible kebab.
