Vegas Bob, photographer for Shemale Yum and Black Tgirls since 2000 died earlier this week by taking his own life. The information as I have it, is that he had been depressed and some recent incidents had compounded that further. He left a brief note but with no real explanation. He was 50 years old.

Certainly one of the more elusive of the Grooby crew, he elected not to come on any trips but was always a genial host in the city he'd made his home. Few who met Bob, will forget him easily, with his exaggerated mannerisms (at times he was the double of the Doc/Christopher Lloyd in the "Back to the Future" movies) and his unwillingness to remove his long trench coat, even in a crowded club were just a few of his eccentrities! Tony, Frank, Greg and I had met him on various trips to Vegas and I had regular contact with Bob up until last week, in fact his latest shoots were taken in the week before he died.

Bob had started shooting for us sporadically in 2000 but quickly became popular, especially with some of his finds for Black Tgirls. While Bob had as many misses as great girls, we've got to remember that it was he who first showed such stars as Vanilla, Nefertiti, Gi-Won, Celeste and Armani - most of these before they were even dressing/living fulltime, if it wasn't for the break he gave them who knows if the rest of the shemale erotica world would have benefited from seeing them?

Bob wasn't quite a loner but he was an individual. I'll miss him as a friend and contributor to the websites and site forums, I'm sure many models are going to miss opportunities from his exposure and it's a sad week for the shemale erotica world to lose the only person who was on the ground, in Las Vegas shooting the talent that passes through that transient city.

He left no family.
Go in peace Bob and I hope you find what you were looking for.

Steven (seanchai)

Thanks Bigguy - more of a shock than anything but your right losing two photographers who were finding 10-20 new models between them a month sucks for us all!

Sorry for the loss. Given how many tgirls we lose to suicide, its evern tougher to see something like this happen.

He had some interesting taste but anyone who discovers Celeste should be in the hall of fame. Does it strike anyone else that there is a resemblance between Vanessa and Celeste. Might Vanesssa be Celeste but earlier in her transition?

Seaman - she started as Vanessa on the site as a TV but soon became better known as Celeste on other sites and when she reshot for us we changed her name - sorry for the confusion.
Thanks guys.

No problem Seanchai...thanks for the 411.

In my limited experience, it really seems like the truly spectacular transsexuals look terrific even very early on in their transition, Celeste included. Krysteen in NY might be the current winner in that category. Something about natural femine-like facial and body features that saves years of surgery and hormones.

Seanchai, you said on the Shemale Yum Forum that he had no family. Not true. His family was everyone on this board who shared his passion and loved his work. It's a very big family. We all mourn together.

RIP Vegas Bob.

I reckon the vid he got of Celeste on Shemale Yum is a nice little tribute, the one where he cracks up at her bouncing up and down, its hell funny.
A nice reminder of happier times 8)

Hi,

I exchanged emails with Vegas Bob on a number of occasions and we both hoped that we would eventually meet someday. Unfortunately, this will now never happen and it is the strongest of reminders that one should never put anything off to tomorrow when it can be done today.

What is most tragic is that choosing to end one's life almost always comes when one feels that they cannot turn to anyone for salvation. In our inability to show that we could have been there to help, we can now only offer our regret and sorrow with a few simple words:

Rest in peace Bob.

Joanna
