In many other sites the use of the term shemale has been replaced by terms, that are not seen, and experienced, as being condescending, so it seems about time to replacing it in here, as well. Doing so is simply to show respect towards other people.

Is that supposed to be funny? Try explaining something without using the words for it.

Try asking yourself are so late to this.

Weird passive-aggressiveness to come up with. This is not about me but about this topic. Strange how often "discussions" on the internet try to be steered in some "personal" direction.

Maybe some people just like to be condescending towards the models they masturbate to. If they cannot be with them for real, at least they can show some disrespect. It is not difficult to replace the term with a more respectful one, that they actually prefer. But, of course, you can try to make a scapegoat out of a stranger on the internet, me, instead, showing the usual stupid behaviour as so many others. There is always that choice. Be stupid or don't be stupid.

The problem with modern society is that it is more conserned by form over content. Words by itself aren't good or bad. It is the meaning behind them that matters.

You've been here long enough that you should have noticed topics with that word in the title being deleted, and people commenting about not using that term.

It still pops up in topics that are several years old.

Okay. I am very sorry for not behaving the way I was supposed to according to you. I don't spend a lot of time in this forum checking out all those things, but okay. I also commented on it now.

Don't forget if someone points out that something is racist, or sexist, for instance, that they might be a little too late, as it seems very important to do.

- Ah, you missed it, you were too late, sorry. - Okay, thanks for pointing it out. I thought it was important.

Christ almighty, read the room man before making silly comments. It's not all about you, you, you.

While I appreciate the point, we were one of the first companies to change that term across all the sites, and brands which were many year old. It'

2014 - https://www.advocate.com/politics/transgender/2014/03/12/tranny-awards-changes-its-name-not-its-nature
2017 - https://www.vice.com/en/article/7xx73q/this-leading-trans-porn-company-is-wiping-slurs-from-its-site

We've been instrumental in encouraging the majority of the industry to change the terminology since then.
But we're not policing it. While we can educate and even ridicule if someone is still using words, we can't eradicate everything or stop people making errors in what they right.

So your comment "so it seems about time to replacing it in here", is moot, rude and condescending. We don't use the word 'shemale' on this site.

My comment was not aimed at Grooby, it was aimed at other people, but I understand. I was just wondering. You can just delete the thread now if it makes sense then. Have a nice day.

It's not incorrect behavior. It's inattention. Your observation about the term is nothing new. And now you are being defensive and acting offended when people comment who actually agree with you that the term is outdated.

The thread is not about me, so I will point that out again and ignore more comments that try to make it so. I am sorry if I was making a mistake starting this thread then. That is why I say it can just be deleted, or it can be left as it is. Either way, I am out of it.

Did not see that one. Yes, and I responded to that by saying it was not aimed at grooby. You can just throw me out if you like then. Do what you want.

Yes, I commented on a comment I did not see. Quite reasonable. The thread is still not about me, even though it seems to be a very popular opinion. I don't care.

Shemale is like coloured or handicapped. there are other acceptable terms to use these days.

The problem with modern society is that it is more conserned by form over content. Words by itself aren't good or bad. It is the meaning behind them that matters.

Words have generally understood meanings though. 'Shemale' is literally misgendering because transsexuals think of themselves as female rather than half female half male.

If you know most members of a group find a word offensive but insist you mean no offence by using the word then you are being disingenuous.

Problem is, "we" haven't changed the name of the NAACP yet....

And, IMHO, "Black" is just as wrong as "Red" is for Native Americans....

I am thinking here purely in term of biology. If someone has both female and male sex organs then that person can be called shemale or hermafrodite and I don't see anything offensive in the term itself. And it is completly different topic how someone see him/herself.

that person is a hermaphrodite but not the other term which is a label regarded as pejorative slang and a misnomer in the context you are describing anyway. Someone’s view of themselves can be detrimentally affected by other’s description of them especially where it’s incorrect.
