Is there a problem with this site's server? Everything seems to be loading extremely s l o w l y on it today, and I'm not experiencing this issue with any other website.

I've been having some problems today also. The pages are loading slowly or incompletely.

No reports of issues here, and seem's to be running fine from where I am - possible routing issues from your ISP or something else localised?

Again, I'm only experiencing the delay with this site. All the rest of the internet loads fine.

That's how routing works. Your ISP's route to our servers. On the pay sites we move things around or redirect to other servers for customers but it's not practical to have in place for a free site.

I have experienced the same thing with the HA site at least 4 or 5 times - maybe more ... You know I do Network Administration and have done so for 18 years so here is my 2 cents worth (which might be worth a lot more than 2 cents) - You might want to hand this over to your IT team or hosting provider (if they manage the physical or Virtual Servers) just to see what they think

It does not appear to be ISP related or network related (Ping's hit the Hungangels.com IP with a normal response time of 40 - 150 MS and the spread would have almost imperceptible impact - yes I checked Im a tech after all) - other sites across the internet are functioning just fine even when HA is super slow (and I mean taking 5+ seconds to load or change pages within the HA site Specifically the boards although Im not on the main Blog portion very much to be honest)
The lag is typical of when one of the following occurs - Database Maintenance - Live Server Backup - VMware (or other VM infrastructure) back up of the actual physical server) - VMware (or similar) backup "snapshot cleanup"
The above types of Lag are usually storage speed related since they are handling large amounts of raw data in a read / write / purge procedure - This may be resolved by switching to a SD disk array if you are still running on old school Hard disks or by provisioning VM's to either run backups on a staggered schedule or reducing the number of VM servers running on the physical array at one time.

Cheers and hope this helps

NOTE: Steven - the below is simply best guess based on the information at hand and my experience. The problem could very well be elsewhere but given the symptoms it seems unlikely and Im just trying to help.

I'll have someone take a look thanks - at the end of the day, I think my main point is, we've bigger things to prioritize with our staff on sites where people are paying.

Swell.

Anyway, glad to see I'm not the only one noticing the issue.

A wee update on this.
The reason this site isn't on faster servers is that for security we can't have it on the same servers as the paysites (forums like this can provide an easier gateway for hackers). Obviously, we've upgraded the paysite servers over the years - but this server hasn't been renewed or upgraded in a while.
That being said, if it's running really slow, it's still a routing issue. I'm on this every day and never have speed issues on it, but I'm fairly close to the actual server host (Amsterdam) and we don't mirror this site.
