In the French elections in 2017, extremist candidate Marine Le Pen declared -

““There is no more left and right. The real cleavage is between the patriots and the globalists"."

In her rebuttal to the President's State of the Union speech, the Governor of ArKansas, Sarah Sanders summoned the words of her idol and declared-

“The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left," Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared. "The choice is between normal or crazy.”

One wonders how Americans, or indeed, people observing from outside the country interpret this remark, quite apart from its origin in one of the nastiest politicians in Europe.

For example, is this normal or crazy? -

"The Republican-led legislature in Missouri voted down a provision that would ban minors from carrying guns in public without adult supervision earlier this week in a state that already has some of the weakest gun laws in the US (https://www.everytown.org/state/missouri/).
...Republicans, however, saw the rejected measure as a breach of the right to bear arms. "While it may be intuitive that a 14-year-old has no legitimate purpose, it doesn't actually mean that they're going to harm someone. We don't know that yet," said Republican Rep. Tony Lovasco, according to the Associated Press."Republican-led legislature in Missouri rejected ban on children carrying guns in public without supervision (yahoo.com) (https://uk.news.yahoo.com/republican-led-legislature-missouri-rejected-134828172.html)

It would be possible to draw up a list or things normal and crazy, but how long would it be? And what would ne considered normal or crazy?
