I know there are some professional graphic designers that frequent this site.
I will be attending school this winter for graphic design and would like to get alittle head start.
Can anyone recomend a good principles of graphic design book or any other resources that can help me get head start.
Thanks in advance.
And here's alittle something for your time.

Hi Run DMC

A few resources (I do some illustration/ photoshop/ web work)
http://www.dexigner.com/directory/cat/Graphic_Design/
http://desktoppub.about.com/od/graphicdesign/
http://www.allgraphicdesign.com/
http://typophile.com/

(I allways seach for new stuff when I begin a project. Depends what I set out to create)

If you are going to create websites, this is one of the best resources I can think of:
http://www.killersites.com/
Inspiration (web):
http://www.csszengarden.com/
TIP: If you are going to work with graphics for interactive publishing (web), CSS (Cascading style sheets) will be THE most important skill in the future (and now). Indeed, it has been called the graphic designers webdesign tool nr 1. (besides tools for creating the initial graphic, that is...;))

Flash Mekka here:
http://www.flashkit.com/

Industrial tools worth learning are Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, GoLive/Dreamweaver. + general skills/ principles about photography, typography, layout and illustration.

Good luck with your studies...:)
