i have to admit i'm in a quandry with this show. i watched it every season so far. but now various talking heads are using it to suggest Americans generally approve of the use of torture to fight terrorism. i was always able to keep the fantasy separate from reality. hell, i like "torture" in the bedroom. but i'd rather not add to 24 ratings if it's going to be taken seriously as our collective stand on real live torture.

sorry...i don't intend to hijack this thread. so anyone who wants to respond can start an appropriate thread in politics and religion or just pm me.

And as far as the show promoting torture, come on. . . It's Jack Bauer, for crying out loud. The guy's got twenty four hours to save the world (assuming you catch him right at 7am), and he's the only man for the job.

How old is Jack Bauer now? Since each "day" takes place a few years after the previous "day" he's really getting up there.

Best show on TV bar none. I've been a fan from the jet explosion of the first show. Second best? Boston Legal would get my vote.
