Posting ‘no men’ in their profiles, the growing trend of straight men on Grindr is frustrating gay guys who say they feel sidelined in a space originally designed for them.

"Despite being catfished three times and another three people cancelling at the last minute, he’s thrilled to have had two successful meet-ups in as many weeks, which he calls “way better” odds than he ever had on Tinder."

"The growing trend of Jeremy and others posting “no men” on Grindr is understandably frustrating for some gay men who tell me they feel sidelined in a space originally designed for them. It’s especially prevalent in Washington, D.C., where a college friend tells me it’s “surreal” to go to a gay friendly space and see people explicitly ruling out gay sex. “To read ‘no homos’ or ‘no men’ on a gay male app is troubling,” he says.

The whole article is interesting. If trans-attracted men are seen as invading Grindr that's because there's still no good online dating app for us yet? Anybody here have experience on both Tinder and Grindr?

(And please don't let this thread descend into the usual debate here about whether trans-attracted men are hetero or not.)

These so-called heterosexual men need to come all the way out of the closet. There's no such thing as heterosexual men being trans attracted.

You can't really put a label in this case.
For example, how would you label a man who is a top only and is attracted to genetic women, pre, and post op transgender women?

Oversexed, maybe? I don't think they are gay (regardless of whether they top, bottom or both), but nor are they heterosexual. In any case, why care about other peoples' labels? Haven't we gone over this about a 1000 times already?

Love how he said at bottom about not getting into whether trans attracted men are hetero or not yet you still stomped in immediately like a tool. Well done 🙄.

Also get your name changed it's pathetic.

Its not about life style but about sex! Same way mob guys go to jail and are allowed to have gay sex but be welcome back as straight men when released! men just want to poke something they dont care what it is just get a nut! Gay is a life style its not just about sex! it is about more than that! the same for trans women it's not about the sex it is about their life! some have no choice as to what they do to reach their goal! to become the sex they were ment to be!

Educate yourself before posting your drivel. Maybe that applies to you..it doesn't to me...I can never ever let a man touch me.

"Cisgender men attracted to transgender women primarily identify as heterosexual and sometimes as bisexual, but rarely as homosexual. Sexual arousal research has confirmed that their response patterns are unlike those of gay men and resemble those of heterosexual men, except that they are highly aroused by transgender women in addition to cisgender women."

The linked article was posted nine months ago, but this is actually old news. There have been men looking for transwomen and transwomen looking men on Grindr for years. The app added only a trans option in 2017, but trans people and those that like them have been on the app almost since it first went live in 2009.

Also, the notion that men looking for transwomen (and, by implication, that transwomen looking for men) are "invading" Grindr is rather hyperbolic. Anyone familiar with the app knows that users who select the "tribe" option for trans are a tiny, Tiny, TINY minority of the overall user base. That hardly constitutes an invasion.

If followed to its logical conclusion, your argument is, essentially, that men who like transwomen aren't heterosexual because transwomen aren't women.

Why are some people here assuming that "not heterosexual" equates to "gay"? Your reactions to the earlier post might reveal more about your own anxieties than anything else.

This might be mainly a semantic argument, but I'm not sure it even makes sense to argue about whether trans-attracted men are heterosexual or homosexual. That seems like a sort of category error because it assumes a clear binary division between genders.

You're absolutely correct that sexuality is a spectrum and gender is not a simple binary. However, such nuances are probably lost on someone who uses loaded, judgmental phrases like "so-called heterosexual" and demands that trans-attracted men "need to come all the way out of the closet."

I'm sure he was being deliberately provocative in his choice of words, but this is what he said in a previous post:
"I don't consider myself gay for watching ts porn and enjoying the ts ladies but at the same I'm not a hypocrite to lie to myself that I am 100% straight."

I identify as bisexual. I'm attracted to transwomen and genetic females. I like eating pussy and sucking dick. So that sums it up for me

Transgender women are not attracted to gay men.

I use to think that, but i have seen many that will hook up with Gay guys, and primarily watch Guy/Guy Porn.

I am not going to opine on the obvious here as so many are already chiming in but what i find most interesting is that there are gay men that now feel marginalized because Grindr has become more inclusive??? Talk about a 180 from "we're here, we're queer! get used to it!"

How many straight men watch lesbian porn?

Personally i don't know any, not saying they don't exist. I was going off actual interactions and personal knowledge not a guessing or giving my opinion.

Horseshit. I've never even considered having sex with a man. I also very rarely have sex with GG's anymore. I wouldn't say I'm ONLY attracted to pre-op t-girls but I'd definitely say any other gender configuration has a hard time competing for my attention. The only other option I consider is GG's. But I'm going to upvote your post anyway because I've never seen a 0/10 before, BTL.
