I fear this is only going to grow...Yes it's Blair...but I'm listening to the trans athletes speak and the genetic woman interviewer...

i like Blaire but she's wrong here. Being trans lessens muscle mass, and the fact a person competed as a man and then transitioned is moot.

And she is making a generalisation across sports. if an mft trans woman was a male soccer player and played women's football, i don't see the difference. brute strength is not required like in other sports.
it should be evaluated in a case by case basis.
i don't see how it would matter in track and field - long-distance, not really. sprinting, again this is more due to fast-twitch muscles than muscle mass per se.

tennis? motor sport? Archery? i dunno. again, it's case by case.

Blaire should research more imho. it's not as black and white (pun intended) as she claims.

Any nudes or sex with Blair? Otherwise, I don’t care. Save it for the Politics and religion thread,

I watch porn to get away from reality.

Oh yeah, and you kids get off my lawn!

Generally speaking, genetic men are taller than genetic women - thus longer strides.

It's a tough subject matter for MTF trans athletes but not really for FTM trans athletes.....

depends on the sport. not all sports have height as a critical factor. still her rationale is too generalised.

Men are in general, taller, stronger, and faster. Anyone who lives in the real world knows that. This kind of stuff is what you get when you feed people's delusions.

Of course!
And I've said that before in terms of basketball and volleyball.....

Sticky subject that I don't know if a solution can be reached for "all parties" involved to be happy....

Is there a single, physical based, sport where the overall word record is held by a woman rather than a man?

For what it's worth, this is a lose-lose situation for all involved.
The solution is simple but ugly -transgendered athletes either compete amongst themselves, or with noone. The controversy is too complex, just consider the case of Caster Semenya and you will enter the fraught world of regulation in sports, in itself a minefield of obscurity, for how many athletes can compete in major tournaments without a diet that consists of the food and drink you and I eat, and a cocktail of 'stimulants' and 'peformance related' drugs some of which are allowed, some not?
No, sport is already overloaded with controversy, the last thing it needs is a problem that cannot even be properly defined, let alone solved to everyone's satisfaction.

Be careful ... you have to much common sense... You are way too rational to be on this forum lol

Not sure why, but I'm always surprised by the lack of knowledge people on this board have about the nuts 'n' bolts of medical transition and general trans issues...

Testosterone blockers or organectomy result in the average trans woman a having a lower testosterone level than the average cis women. And an HRT regime of estrogen results a loss of muscle mass that negates any advantage of having experienced male puberty. As for height, that is essentially a result of random genetic chance, i.e., parentage. There are plenty of tall cis women in the WNBA and, as much I wish it were so, being a cis male doesn't mean I'm tall enough to play for the Golden State Warriors.

Some trans women are still women, but they are different. Trans women should compete against other trans women if they truly want respect. Also, taking estrogen does not automatically result in the loss of muscle mass. Look at Janae Kroc. I believe she's been on estrogen for a while and still massive. Yes, that's years of testosterone and she never stopped lifting. So it doesn't just evaporate. I understand she is more of an outlier that the average trans so not sure how this plays out overall. I support what she is doing. I don't support Rachel McKinnon.

Janae Kroc has the right idea in my opinion.
