welp: the fcc just voted to kill net neutrality by "restoring internet freedom" which laughably removes any regulator for the broadband industry.
i don't know if anyone watched this shitshow of a "hearing" - including the everyone-get-out-of-the-room-so-the-dogs-can-sniff-around-and-see-who-farted "interruption" - if you asked me, it was ajit pai who farted to the "hey don't kill net neutrality because about 96% of the country doesn't want you to" to the reply the order was "blessed" (?) by the supreme court. what?

Congress still has to vote on it...but we all know how THAT’S gonna go.

shout out to the new york city attorney general (ag schneiderman to you) for saying he would lead a multi-state challenge of the fcc net neutrality reversal. he has his heart in the right place but i really don't see anything happening unless it involves agit pai getting replaced.

the reversal in net neutrality comes at an interesting time. 23 days ago, the fcc announced they were going to "review" the rules on how many tv channels an entity can own (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-broadcasters/fcc-head-proposes-review-of-u-s-tv-station-ownership-cap-idUSKBN1DL271). 21st century fox was amongst the entities pushing for this change. today, 21st century fox was bought out by disney (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/14/business/dealbook/disney-fox-deal.html) and besides the film properties, they get quite a number of television channels which includes, hulu.
goodbye hulu

the following states have agreed to join new york in suing the fcc to defend net neutrality:
-california
-oregon
-vermont
-washington
-delaware
-hawaii
-iowa
-illinois
-massachusetts
-kentucky
-maine
-maryland
-north carolina
-mississippi
-pennsylvania
-virginia
california state senator scott wiener sweetened the deal though by saying he will introduce a bill to adopt net neutrality as a requirement in california. now scott's the kind of wiener i like

People who don't pay for their porn are quite upset....

that particular story mentions pornhub. one thing i don't understand is, if pornhub is illegal, then how is it able to maintain such a public image like erecting billboards (http://www.adweek.com/creativity/pornhub-erects-huge-billboard-times-square-after-long-search-great-non-pornographic-ad-160632/) for advertising, selling merchandise, holding public competitions (http://www.adweek.com/creativity/here-are-15-finalists-pornhubs-search-brilliant-non-pornographic-ad-157869/) (btw: some of those ads are pretty good) and even holding crowd-funding campaigns (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pornhub-space-program-sexploration#/)?
also, don't the owners of pornhub also own brazzers, digital playground and reality kings? so wouldn't pornhub technically be considered a legitimate porn streaming site since the parent company owns a number of legitimate porn companies? if not, why has manwin never been sued?

I’ve had that same question for awhile. If a company is against tube sites, why do they literally upload their content to them? Brazzers, Blacked/Vixen/Tushy, Naughty America, BangBros...they all have official accounts on the Hub and the Hamster...and so do many of the starlets thst want you to “pay for your porn”. Shouldn’t have it both ways.

Republicans now in charge of the FCC really don’t want to. The new rules largely don’t prevent internet providers from doing anything. They can block, throttle, and prioritize content if they wish to. The only real rule is that they have to publicly state that they’re going to do it...........
and so far no publicly stated new rules seen by any of the internet providers ... so chill !!:party::party:

Yeah I know. Wouldn't it be cool if there were a way to figure out who was doing it;)?

And I don't want it to look like I'm implying I'm the one doing it....only that there is actually a way of checking who is rating you.

Sorry, that is just disingenuous. Your posting of the link was clearly intended to imply that people complaining about the decision are mostly just worried about losing free porn. I gave you a thumbs down because you were trivialising the issue. I could not be bothered giving a written response because your posting history shows that you just keep repeating the same point and never engage with what people say.

You have time to complain about this but you've said nothing about alcohol misuse. The millions of people suffering from consumption with liver damage, brain damage, wrecked marriages all while you sit there squawking about the fcc who you don't really care about anyway.

Actually,
Your beef is with the AUTHOR of that article. All I did was post it.
Nice try at a spin though!

Who else here posts things they don't agree with for no discernible reason and with supportive commentary?

A person who debates in a way to examine all perspectives - whether you agree or disagree.
That's called being non-biased.
And for the record, as far as this topic is concerned. I'm currently on the fence about it. I can see pros/cons to having net neutrality and not having it.

The Senate has voted to repeal the FCC's ruling to end net neutrality. https://www.vox.com/2018/5/16/17360318/net-neutrality-senate-vote-result However, it is still a long shot as it will need to pass through the House and then not be vetoed by Trump.
