I read that the people that run BP were cleared of all criminal charges in December. According to their press release, they're shutting down the adult section because the feds are pressuring the credit card companies to stop processing their payments. That's been going on for a while, so I think the immediate trigger was the very critical Senate report that was just released. The heat's gotten to be too much and they're rethinking their legal and/or business strategy (my guess).
