Though the fight is far from over, the testimonies heard in Oakland on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1233871531\"><span class=\"aQJ\">February 18th<\/span><\/span> made all the difference for that battle, but the war rages on.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>We can\u2019t stop now.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The State Ballot Initiative \u201cSafer Sex in the Adult Film Industry\u201d is moving full steam ahead.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We have been hard at work to win this battle for you on many fronts, but once again\u00a0<b>only your voices<\/b>\u00a0<b>will make the true difference.<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b><u>Why is this important?<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>The State Ballot Initiative\u00a0<i><b>tricks voters\u00a0<\/b><\/i>into believing that it is about safer sex, but we know\u00a0<b>THIS IS ABOUT WORKER HARASSMENT<\/b>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The state ballot initiative will allow anyone in California to file a lawsuit against you for not using a condom. This means\u00a0<b>your legal names and home addresses will all become public record.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We all know, far too well, that there are those who wish us harm.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As you well know,\u00a0<i>gaining access to the legal names of sex workers, particularly our LGBTQ community members,<\/i>\u00a0will have devastating ramifications.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This cannot stand<b>.<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>We have to work together to ensure this measure does not pass.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><u>What Can You Do?<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On\u00a0<b>May 31st<\/b>\u00a0at 10am in Downtown LA \u2013<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The LA County Board of Supervisors is holding their general meeting and we will urge them to follow a recommendation by the LA County HIV Commission to take an official OPPOSE position on the proposed initiative.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On\u00a0<b><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1233871533\"><span class=\"aQJ\">June 8th<\/span><\/span><\/b>\u00a0at <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1233871534\"><span class=\"aQJ\">3pm<\/span><\/span> in Sacramento \u2013<\/div>\n<div>There will be a hearing on the ballot initiative in Sacramento. We are organizing busses from SF and LA to Sacramento.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><i><b>We want as many performers as possible there to show up in solidarity<\/b>, and if you feel moved to,\u00a0<b>speak during public comment<\/b>.
