Good question. I don't think Domino Presley was on hormones until she was getting ready to get implants, and she already had a strong fan base. Jesse has never taken hormones and she also has a strong fan base.

There's really nothing subconscious about it. I'm attracted to femininity, and unless a person is on hormones, they aren't going to look feminine or as feminine as they could (with the exception of a rare rare androgynous few). Make up and surgery can do a lot of course, but hormones still have their place.

Only the andros can get away with not being on hormones but that usually lasts only from teen years until late 20s then the dreaded testosterone finally catches up with them and wreak havoc.

Let us observe and wait... even Andre Pejic will eventually succumb to testosterone once he hits his late 20s (if he does not take antiandrogens, get castrated, or go on hormones). He is only , what, 19 now?

I don't know. Jesse has always looked quite masculine to me despite hormones (and she (nearly?) always tops which is such a turn-off in porn to me personally), while some TVs can appear nearly womanlike. Comes down to genetical witchcraft, ie. luck, most of the times I suppose.

i am attracted to women and femininity therefore i believe that as hormonal changes are a necessary part of transitioning that those that do not take hormones will continue to be less attractive to me. make up and clothes are only part of an illusion...window dressing so to speak. hormonal and physical alteration are what i consider transitioning, not just dress up.

Let's face it...some women just look better with their clothes ON

This. It seems like most men who are attracted to trans women (particularly those looking to pay) would prefer we are hormonally male, mainly because without any testosterone in your body you don't ejaculate.

Erections are less effected than most people assume, i.e. they'll still happen whenever you're aroused just not spontaneously. I assume that if I was turned on by sticking my dick in people, then I would become hard enough to do so, although this is just speculation. Of course, there's also always Viagra.

I also think a large part of male attraction to trans women is based on the assumption that we would be more similar to them in terms of how we think about sex, regardless of our role. In other words, I think that even men who only want to top me would prefer that I achieve orgasm in around the same time frame and frequency as them and be sexually stimulated in the same way (mostly visually).

Most of the changes caused by hormones are emotional and very subtle bodily changes that make more of a difference to the woman on them than her sexual partners. Don't get me wrong, these have been the difference between life and death for me and will always be far more important to my bodily comfort and emotional well-being than any surgeries I end up having. However, I am not sure many casual sexual partners (particularly men, although I know I'm stereotyping here) notice things like how I smell or how soft and dry my skin is.

Yes, I agree with the poster above...

It is a contradiction, lol.... men want us to be able to function and shoot loads (a belief that is perpeutated by TS porn stars who either are not on hormones or do a cycling regimen) but that requires us NOT Being on hormones and still having our testicles, yet, they want us to be on hormones because of its feminizing effects.

    A contradiction, no?

I hate it when men start to harp on about my genitalia and try to get it erect in bed and that just makes things worse, feeling pressured to "function" and my thing hides even further. lol
