Default Your old life - for the girls

I know that the US high school and college re-unions are a big deal. I was wondering if any girls who are enroute to transitioning - or who have actually crossed that rubicon - have actually gone to any such re-unions in their new personas.

Also generally if you have accidentally met or even chosen to meet people who knew you before you crossed-over and what the event was like?

It would surely take a lot of balls (excuse the ludicrous and totally innapropriate use of this phrase) to do this.

I dont much like to remember people of my past and past life, but it does not take balls lol for me to visit such a reunion, its easier now, if i still lived as a boy it would have been to difficult...in a while there is a family reunion, almost nobody has seen me as a girl, its been years since i last saw them and im looking forward to it, its a sorth of closure for me...i would not be present if i had to be present as a boy...i could also never go back to such a life...

What did take balls was having to live as a boy in my youth, i still have scars from that time and dont think that will ever truely heal

Where did you grow up? I am curious about the culture, because I get the impression you are European, and at least western European countries can be very tolerant of people who are different.

I took a clean break to transition - dissapeared as such , for various reasons, I felt it was the best thing to do, not just for me and my quality of life but for my family. I knew doing it that way there would be no closure with so many people - and i dream about people from my "past" all the time, this will no doubt haunt me forever.

I Could not go to a reunion, would upset me to much.

Wow... so your family Sammi... they know you're okay or did you just become a runaway? That is courageous.

"I dont think europe is very tolerant, it has christian roots and there is little room here for different gender behavior etc....i think nowadays its getting worse again due to people becoming less tolerant, more homophobic, and influences such as islam in europe[/QUOTE]

I think Birgitta is totally correct about this. Right across Europe there is a swing towards intolerance. In London there has been a steep rise in attacks on gay people. The most recent high profile case was Philip Sallon - a flamboyant "queen" and friend of Boy George - who was nearly killed when attacked in central London.
It's not just the gay and transgendered community though - there is a massive upsurge of hatred of immigrants and Muslims and jews too. Th right is on the rise in italy (Mussolin's granddaughter running for office) - in France (Marin le Pen - daughter of the founder of the French national front) and elsewhere.

I admire your strength of will and what you have accomplished. You should be very proud of yourself.

I agree with your sentiments on how society is regressing. Religion is a very pernicious thing, especially Islam, and its rise there is shocking. RIP Theo Van Gogh
