Really can't see the point of Medical Certificates. No way an escort or working porn performer that only does bareback could possibly stick to the rules of the 12 week rule.

For those who don't know what the 12 week rule is...

THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY KNOW IF YOU ARE HIV+ IS TO GET TESTED!!!!!

It can take up to 12 weeks after becoming infected, before the body makes enough antibodies to give an accurate HIV test.
Rule of thumb: An HIV test given today will tell you your HIV status as of 12 weeks prior.

That is why it is important to wait 12 weeks from your last possible exposure to be sure your test result is accurate.

Just wear a condom and then no need to worry whether the other person is HIV pos or HIV neg, or has any other sexually transmitted deseases.

12 weeks is out of date, it's 4 weeks. Same sentiments but don't present as facts thanks.

It actually depends on the type of test...there are two:

An antibody test (which doesn't detect the virus but the person's response to exposure) can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks to test positive...the vast majority of people will develop AB's within 90 days. The test itself only requires a swab.

The RNA test looks for the virus itself...this test can only be done with a blood sample...very reliable 10 days post-exposure.

Several local hobby boards here in an effort to comply with laws about underage providers requests a scan of their id with their name and address blacked out (picture and age visible). A couple of times where rumors were flying, the board allowed/requested the provider who claimed that she had results showing she was OK to send them in.

They reported that the rumor was probably false, changed the title of the accusing thread and locked it. It did kill the rumors, but is not perfect to dispell all as tests can be faked.

However, knowing that one can be jailed for knowingly having sex with an STD should stop anyone that is positive.

Still - everyone in the hobby should always be covered in the main event.

Just looked at the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION website for the latest time period for the tests to be 100% accurate and you are quite correct. Looks like 12 weeks is the guidelines according to them. But I guess they could be wrong.

Meningitis Spreading Via Gay Sex: Officials

Health dept. urges men to get vaccinated

(Newser) – New York City's health department is warning men who engage in anonymous, gay sex to get vaccinated against meningitis, ABC News reports. An outbreak has already killed seven New Yorkers and sickened 22, spreading mostly through men who meet at bars, parties, or online. "I urge all men who meet these criteria—regardless of whether they identify as gay—to get vaccinated now and protect themselves from this disease before it is too late," says the city's health commissioner.

It's not known which websites and apps are linked to the outbreak, but more than half of infected men have HIV—which weakens the immune system and more easily leads to severe infections. Bacterial meningitis infects the membranous lining of the brain and includes symptoms like fever, vomiting, and headaches; it can lead to brain damage or death if left untreated. (Read about an outbreak that killed at least 15 people and sickened more than 200 last year.)

PMs sent to me have taken me to task for removing the original thread suggesting a specific named escort has hiv. I repeat that I feel this is an unfair accusation to make without any proof. The fact the escort involved is alleged to regularly offer bareback sex - with some evidence to support this allegation - might suggest she could be infected is still not proof of this.

I do not believe it was wrong to delete this thread. This sort of accusation could be flung here against any working girl.

As I've often said before the only protection possible is to ensure you practice safe sex.
