Brilliant - what insight! Some people should need a license before they're allowed to give an opinion.

a) How are they going - and if they are, then you can buy them anytime, it's just a currency. Like buying US$ when they are down and selling them when they are up. You can go and buy them now if you have the money to risk.
b) You wouldn't be "selling them to a porn site" (and what does porn have to do with it). You'd be purchasing a product at the same price everyone else is, just using a different currency.

so you are investing in bitcoins? that's really not a secure investment just yet. it is in fact a market of its own creation...that is there is no inherent value in a bitcoin unless you can exchange it for goods and services. if you are using it as currency for a material good or subscription, it has value, to you as the payer and to the payee accepting it but if the payee does not accept it, you might as well be trying to pay with a bunch of hairs plucked from the sweater of an old lady with 25 cats. bitcoins are not real monetary units that are widely accepted and can generate interest income, therefore there is, at this time, no real reason to hold a position long term.
