You have to make watching TV commercials fun. Try whacking off to them and over time your brain will start to associate them with pleasure... assuming you're good at whacking off.

I watch most things on the DVR and fast-forward commercials.

I do enjoy a good commercial that entertains and ties back into the product though.

I fall prey most often to commercials about cheeseburgers. Burger King and Carl's Jr/Hardees always get me to grab my keys and run out the door in complete cooperation with the advertisement.

Like Dino a lot of what i watch is recorded so can be fast forwarded. Blissfully a lot of the best stuff on UK TV is on the BBC which doesn't have commercials.

I don't watch much TV anymore. I mostly rely on netflix and other sites. So ads aren't a problem.

When I do occasionally watch TV not only are the commercials annoying but most of the shows on now are crap. Like how the history channel shows pawns stars marathons.

I find it impossible to watch tv in the US because of the frequency of ads - every five or six minutes FFS. Totally destroys narrative continuity which could in part be one of the reasons for all the dumb shows.

As Prospero has said, here in the UK the BBC has no commercials at all, and if you're watching commercial TV the ads arrive every 15 to 20 minutes which is quite civilised.

So when I'm in the states I'll find a couple of music stations on the radio that suit my taste rather than endure the utter frustration of tv.

I enjoyed watching BBC lifestyle when I was back in Thailand. I really got hooked into watching MasterChef.
