Interesting that this seems to be some sort of university course, so it means folks are studying it seriously.

It's not a university course; it's a "Lecture @Google". Employees at Google can invite anyone of any interest whatsoever to come give a lecture on any subject matter. In the past they've had people arguing for psychic dogs, for example.

the thing about that is that everyone in behavioral neuroscience likes to essentially call each other out for biases based on personal behavior. if you are a guy and talking about the so-called neurobiology of racism...your colleagues are just going to pounce on anything you say outside of your papers or lectures, that can be construed as racist so that they can say you are full of it.

if ogi came out and said "i like tranny cock" he would lose credibility in the debate because his colleagues would accuse him of skewing his results towards his bias. this isn't the case usually in cellular neuroscience or physiology, but in behavioral neuroscience...the data really can be forced to fit the hypothesis quite easily depending on how you frame it.

i know he does. he likes both.

ogi's work is suspect because he makes behavioral assumptions based on applying a model to web searches. if he limited his conclusion to fantasy (because it is about web searches) i'd find is more somewhat more credible...but because he cannot really speak about true sexual motivation i don't like the book.

i do have an idea for a study that would be much more credible than this and many others...but it doesn't fall in the scope of my fellowship so i have to wait to apply for a k award to plan for it. my current nrsa is really based off my pi's grant.
