Re: The Time I Got Counter-Clocked
I think you're both right. There's no easy solution.

Re: The Time I Got Counter-Clocked
Well, not quite, and here's why:
My friends ARE well aware, because we have had extensive debates and discussions on the subject, that I am a person who totally supports all rights issues related to LGBT (ignoring for now that all these letters are not always copacetic with each other).
Additionally, my family (I'm divorced) is also well aware of my position on these issues, and that includes my son as well. Actually, this is one area where my ex and I have always been in agreement, and my son was always brought up to respect diversity. And certainly, if he was gay, or ever went with a trans girl (which he hasn't as far as I know) he would find nothing but support.
Now, does that mean I'm going to discuss my sexual preferences with my friends or family? No, because there's no reason to. And really, I don't think you or anyone else has the right to tell me how to live my life or to pass judgement on my decisions.
Just like I don't have those rights regarding your life choices.
That's part of diversity too.

Re: The Time I Got Counter-Clocked
I apologize about my tone but I envision a world where I'm not a dirty secret, and it's probably never going to happen, I know, but I'm still gonna tell y'all that you ought to be working on it too.
I mean, really, you're in a seedy strip club with friends, and you aren't talking about sex?

Re: The Time I Got Counter-Clocked
Hey, I hear where you're coming from...I don't have exact answers to all these questions...I don't even have answers to the questions I ask myself, but I have told myself to stop bothering me with stupid questions.
I sometimes get accused of being negative, but I see myself as more of a realist. IMO, the LGBT community is never going to find 100% acceptance as there always will be people who hate...so I think that if the full slate of rights become law and you're free to live your life as you choose, I think that's probably about as good as it's ever going to get.
